I just heard that a girl named Beth Bentley is missing in IL

There is or was a thread on beth, she went missing back in May of this year. As far as I know, she hasn't been found yet. moo

Trying to look this guy up and not much happens. He has several addresses in DeKalb and 3 in Malta, Illinois.

The site I use to check criminal history is at work, and thankfully, I'm not there . Maybe someone else? Where is Malta Illinois? Never heard of it. tia

Malta is 5 miles west of dekalb. Town under 1000 people. Lower income.

The cheaper apts are in Malta, but then requires a car. Dekalb is tough on renters w First, last and security deposit being normal. Billy probably didn't have that kind of cash. If he had a theft record, then the retailers would not hire him leaving very little jobs to find here.

I went to get the sex offender address tonight but the records dept is mysteriously closed., I used to go in and show the driver license and they would print it up, Also there is an online version though I cannot rem the link.

I think he would not be allowed to stay in the senior center. Just a thought. We use to go carrolling and sing them songs. Maybe they got lenient on the visitor rules.

I looked for sex offenders in DeKalb, Cook and McHenry counties for starters but I didn't see his name. It would be hard to believe this would be his first crime at 34 years of age.

Stated that William NEVER was a student at NIU and LE have had many run ins with him.

I"m wondering if Toni didn't fight like 8ell when attacked, and he became ragefull. Why else would he go to the extreme to the nth degree in hurting and destroying her. Toni looks like she could be a little tiger when mad. I hope he has scratches and burns all over him. moo mho

Back in the day, in the 70's rapes were not easy to convict and female victims of such were basically told they instigated it... Reminds me of the Barbara Gleuckert case. She was ONLY 14 and went to a party in Huntley IL and never made it home. Sadly, her remains are yet to be found. Keep in mind that this guy wasn't born until 1976 so the crimes he's committed would probably be from the mid nineties onward.

I wonder if he under the influence of drugs or alcohol...and I wonder if he covered her up w/ brush & came back later w/ accelerant(s) to burn her...or did he really go to the park to stalk, rape, kill & burn - and go fully prepared?

So hard to wrap my head around violence like this. But every day I read about freaks doing lotsa horrible things while on meth.

Contrary to published reports, Curl did not report a fire at the park, Feithen said. Rather, investigators first interviewed Curl because he had been known to frequent the park.

They became more interested in Curl when he failed to show up for a second interview.

Police issued a warrant for his arrest because they believed “he was in possession of material information about the homicide,” Feithen said.

Police believe Curl left Illinois Oct. 23. At some point, police alleged, Curl took his mother¹s car without her permission and ended up in Mexico.

They said he came back to the U.S. on Monday.

I am a literal reader...and this tells me she was not dead when he started the fire....

Feithen said Curl was arrested Oct. 26 in Covington, Louisiana, after stealing his mother's car and fleeing to Mexico but coming back over the border into the United States.

Curl left Illinois Oct. 23, the day Feithen announced the Keller case had been reclassified as a death investigation.

"We were able to track his whereabouts after he returned...to the United States," Feithen said. Feithen said Curl's credit card use was one way authorities were able to track his location.

LE did an amazing job of keeping so much information under wraps. They were under so much pressure pressure and there were so many agencies involved, I don't know how they did it.

I watched the presser tonite & that's what I heard Farrell saying.."during" - it's like my brain just stopped processesing for a few seconds after that because it got stuck on what you're thinking -- Toni died a horrible, horrible death. :cry:

Thank god for an arrest...but....

I still don't get how a person who didn't even know Toni could be so violent towards her in death. I don't understand murderers generally, but this wasn't just a murder or a rape....this was serious torture and a complete and utter disregard for Toni, Toni's body, Toni's family, etc. I just can't figure out how someone who is 'so nice' according to neighbors could turn into such a violent, horrible killer overnight.

To use the word 'and' makes it sound like someone could die twice.
I wonder how they can be certain what caused her death, not that the public really needs to know the gritty details. So sad it all had to end this way for her, but let's hope she was deceased when this guy cremated her in the park.:furious:
