exactly... drop her off at an ER, anonymously call 911, something more than this.....

God, this makes me sick. If she died of an overdose, why do this to her afterwards?? I do not understand. I have had a friend pass from overdose. What would make one think to dismember?

Donte Meeks, 26, who listed an address in the 1700 block of Park Terrace, Champaign, pleaded guilty Thursday before Judge Tom Difanis to dismembering the body of Ashley Gibson.

He faces up to 12 years in prison when sentenced Aug. 18 by Difanis. His plea was the result of an agreement negotiated by Assistant State's Attorney Troy Lozar and Chicago attorney Tod Urban.

The last of six men who took responsibility for what a judge called a “mob decision to desecrate the body” of a deceased woman has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

&#8220;I just want to apologize to the family. I hope one day they find it in their heart to forgive me,&#8221; Meeks said before Difanis imposed the sentence.

Meeks was given credit on his sentence for 474 days already served in the county jail. The crime is one that qualifies for day-for-day credit, meaning he could be released in a little over two years.
