If you followed the case closely, especially the Univision interviews with the father, it seems like some and/or most of the family may not have been aware of this kind of behavior from the young woman (may she rest in peace) - or atleast spoke very strongly against the possibility of her having been driving under the influence. <modsnip: not victim friendly>
Regardless, I write all this because I feel for the father. I am about the age of Brissas older sister, and I know how high school kids acted when I grew up and how they are now. Yes they might be successful, responsible, and cautious on the surface - but <modsnip> without a care for their own safety. Her father in interviews said he was strict with his kids, but for some kids that just means they get good at keeping up with their appearance. <modsnip> I’m not criticizing Brissa or her family, my heart truly hurts for them. <modsnip>
Get to know your kids, truly know them where they are comfortable with sharing everything with you out of love. I hope Brissas family will continue to heal and the light she brought to the world will continue to shine.
