At around 11:30 a.m. on March 26 (2012) , a lakefront resident notified police that he had spotted on object resembling a human body floating in Lake Michigan near the shore between 1350 and 1400 N. Lake Shore Drive. About an hour later, officers from the fire departments marine unit recovered the body from the choppy waters about 30 feet of the shore.
The deceased, a woman who appeared to be around 20 years old, did not appear to have suffered any trauma, according to the police report for the incident. The victim was reportedly wearing a red turtleneck sweatshirt and boots when recovered. No further information had been released on the womans identity or cause of death at the time this issue went to press.
