If you put the volume up on the video, you hear Kyle say to his mom "Tell him not to do that again. I'm videoing this and I'm going to post it online."

IMO the video is chilling. The little girl is laying on the floor doing nothing and he grabs her and slaps her hard twice, watching her as she cries. Just watching her, no emotion. Then he apparently grabs the other baby and the video ends. If that's what he does in front of his wife while his step son is recording a video, what does he do in private?

On Facebook his profile says he has a girlfriend and two kids. Not three kids, not two kids and a great step son, but two kids. It also says he was a stay-at-home dad. So no job, just home with these babies he slaps unprovoked all day.
I see Kyle as he shows us to be. I see a bright caring creative child using his YouTube skills to communicate. The oldest child of three. Possibly with an intentional survival strategy beyond his years of comprehension. Correlation of events and timeline of videos is worthy of consideration.

I hear a child’s protective demand:
Mom. Make him stop. DO SOMETHING! Or I will!
I see and hear a child’s cry out:
“Please someone. See me. Hear me. Help me. Help us.”

My guess is he spent much time alone. Online. In his room or wherever his safe place was. Developing a stimulating and stress releasing coping mechanism. Whether family dysfunction, neglect, abuse, psychological disorders, fear, loneliness... This child found his own way of escaping his helplessness. If only temporarily.

He may have had a natural knack of understanding Internet navigation. idk. It is the www. If it can be imagined; it’s out there in cyberspace. Perhaps he used it to follow, trace and validate his thoughts. ISP data is available to LE investigations.

Hey there @Alethea . You just made my day.

Per step-father's relative, the boy was jealous of the younger siblings. Wasn't also the best behaved child either.

"For instance, she says, he sometimes treated his mother badly, even biting her. This happened even after the couple moved out with the boy and eventually had two children together. The cause, she says, sometimes seemed to be jealousy, after the births of his half siblings."

After watching the videos and hearing the way she spoke to him I think I might bite her too:mad:

But the fire just happened so those were back in April long before. Did another fire occur?

ETA: I didn’t realize the fire happened in April and they’re just now charging this kid! The header makes it seem like the fire just happened.

So the mom seriously is talking about the fire and her husband and kids dying with such incredible detachment soon after it happened. And her son is playing around like nothing’s wrong? He certainly doesn’t seem psychotic though. Able to talk logically, doesn’t seem to be responding to internal stimuli, is socializing well, etc.

Also, I take back my earlier comment about her losing her mind. I thought the fire had just happened and she was posting humorous things. It’s still pretty soon after she lost her family but at least it’s months instead of days.

Some of her posts really do make you pause though, not the things I would be posting on SM if I had lost my babies and the love if my life, and was also trying to come to terms with it being at my sons hand!.
She also posts lots about missing the fiancee, the babies not so much...

He says his brother was raising the boy like he was his own son. Well we saw how he was raising his own flesh and blood babies.
But the guy did run into a burning building to save the children and died himself. At least that's what was originally reported, and supposedly neighbors saw him do it. Doesn't he deserve at least some credit for that? He was also a military vet, that could have messed with his mind, we know it messes a lot of people up.

There is going to be much more to this story. Much.
Agree, but will it ALL come out?
I'm afraid it sounds like a simple theory at this
time that LE is blaming the 9 yr. old boy.
The mother is blaming the boy but says he has
numerous brain problems/behavioral problems.
Also I don't understand why a young woman her
age would need her bf to escort her outside after
the explosion. Was she high or out of it?
This is why I've always believed people should
need to apply for a license to procreate and have duplicates of themselves.
Or as some say "the Darwin theory" at work here.

I have followed several cases of young kids doing very messed up stuff, and in most of them I have agreed that they do need to be punished for their crimes. But with this one, I don't know why, I just don't get the feeling that K. really knew what he was doing... I just don't believe he had malicious intent. If he really did do it, that is. I don't know if it would do anyone any good to lock up this kid for the rest of his life. Some major help is needed, and if anyone actually cares about this kid, he should be getting it already. The people responsible for him need to be involved in it, the kid needs guidance. I might be naive and blinded by how little he looks, but I just can't believe this crazy story.

While I fully believe there is/was totally dysfunction in this home, and I'll even say abuse, for some reason, I smell a scapegoat where K is concerned. This whole story smells like a goat, too.

It doesn't take much to "convince" a child of something - to get them to believe the narrative - and for that child to believe it and repeat it.

I won't say more (yet) so that I'm not violating terms or victim blaming because at the end of the day, five people are dead and this family has to live with this tragedy forever.

But John Wall believes he has the right to speak up for his brother. And he also believes the outcome of the crime — ethically, if not legally — merits harsh punishment. He grimaces when discussing the actions of the boy, referenced in Jason Wall’s obituary as “Kyle Alwood of Goodfield, whom he was raising like his own son.”

“I don’t think he deserves leniency,” John Wall said.
...
The 72-year-old, who still lives in that dwelling with her surviving son, is reluctant to say much about the fire or charges, so as not to disparage Kyle Alwood.

“I have a heart of mercy,” she said softly.

Wall, 36, is the brother of Jason Wall, 34, who died in the fire, along with four others. On Thursday, Jason Wall’s fiancee, Katrina Alwood, 28, told CBS News that the 9-year-old is Kyle Alwood, the child she had by another man while in high school. To CBS, she described the quintuple-homicide arson as a “mistake.”

“He couldn’t stand someone else being fed,” Helen Wall said. ”... He didn’t know the meaning of right from wrong.”

Here the mother says she has mental health problems and is suicidal.
She also within days of the fire set up a go ___
me acct. and raised $1,000 to make her van
"legal" cause it's all she has left from the fire.
Something's not right here. IMHO.

I agree - but how could they arrest so quickly? I think there is more going on than we know IMO and I haven't even watched the videos referenced upthread.

.
Respectfully snipped for focus and commentary response.
Yes, I need more info before I can form a solid opinion on this one. ATM, the narrative isn't making sense.

Amateur opinion and speculation

This fire happened back in April, so it wasn't quick. I'm waiting to hear what the boy supposedly did to start the fire.
I'm sniffing Munchausen Syndrome here.
And much family dysfunction after seeing relatives fb pages. Lots more to this story.
