Hummm, yes that is interesting that it wasn't reported until today yet it was sitting there all weekend! Someone noticed it enough to know exactly how long it had been parked there......

I think the reward is was for Julian's safe return though??

Also, was it found because it was reported or did LE find the vehicle does anyone know?

The 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois license plate X584859 was found in the 1300 block of South Kolin Avenue around 8 a.m. after police received a call of a suspicious vehicle. The SUV was towed away for evidence processing.

It is really heartwrenching news for this family. My thoughts and prayers go out to them. Bless Julian's heart for the fear and horror he had to go through.

I don't understand. I can't wrap my mind around why they took him and then killed him. If they were going to do this, why not at the house? A kidnapping for ransom gone wrong? Unless that Balfour did it for revenge. The motive is certainly there. The threats and his past history fit, too. He could have wanted the mother to suffer more while looking for him.

I am glad Balfour is in jail where he belongs. He shouldn't have been out. His mother needs a reality check instead of having the Rev bolstering her to believe her son is not what he truly is...a who has no respect for human life and has already proven he is capable of murder.

I just heard on Fox news that the suspect had lived w/them in the family home along w/ Julia, her son, her mother and brother until there were some problems. They were also allowing him to use the suv.
When the trouble started he was asked to leave and he was p!ssed about it he even told the neighbors. They also took the suv back.
I hope that wasn't the motive but, like I said in an earlier post. It doesn't take much.

I think it was within walking distance(the news said a few blocks) But he was found at his GF house on Friday, she may have picked him up. I do not doubt that one bit.

From what I can it was roughly within a little over a 2 mile radius 2.6 or something like that I am still trying to piece together who parked the vehicle there Sat if he was arrested Fri or if the witness was wrong about how long it was there

Someone speculated that it was the motive - he swore revenge apparently when he posted a comment either on Julia's myspace or another friend. The comment posted was shown on TMZ.com.

All over a place to live & an SUV. Well we all know where his eternity will be spent. :furious:

How devasting for this family. Jennifer and the rest of her family are in my prayers. I am so upset that it ended this way. I was praying that he would be found safe. RIP Julian.

I know I read the exact radius a little bit ago but I too could be wrong I will go see if I can find it again to make sure. I have flipped through so many sites this could be hard!!

According to law-enforcement sources, Balfour's alibi the day of the killings has been contradicted by his girlfriend. Police searched Balfour's girlfriend's house for several hours Friday night after taking him into custody. Her home is located about 2.5 miles from where the SUV was found this morning

I find it odd that LE didn't start at his house and work their way out to find it. If it was that close...it should not have taken them this long! A helicopter could have found that SUV and they could have checked it out sooner!! GRRR!

There are so many conflicting stories on this case, I read that Balfour was kicked out of the home I think last winter and that he left because of drama with his MIL. I think it might have been Balfours mother that stated this though so I doubt it is accurate! I would like to know exactly when he left the home, and if he was living there recently did Julia know that he had a pregnant gf? Even though they were recently seperated seems he may have been seeing someone else before the split up perhaps?

In defense of LE-I called to offer to do a grid search or gather volunteers for a missing child case here in MA not long ago-they were so overwhelmed at trying to set up command posts, deploy officers, work with FBI and field tips, they did not get back to me for a few days...with regrets because they would have liked to have had the help. It must have been chaos there from Thursday until even now...
