Three people steal car in Farmington with baby in back seat, amber alert issued for child

A 13-month-old baby boy is missing after three people stole a car he was in.

An Amber Alert is being issued for 13-month-old, Bentley Dutz, born March 3, 2017.

Bentley has blond hair and is wearing a Bob the Builder yellow and white onesie with blue hood.

Suspect vehicle is a stolen gold 2000 ford Taurus with license plate AT70987.

Bentley was in the back seat when the vehicle was stolen.

There are three suspects.

First suspect is James T Jackson, male black, 24 years old, wearing black t-shirt and white jeans.

Second suspect is a male black wearing yellow Reebok hooded sweatshirt.

Third suspect is a male black wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.

Farmington Police Department, Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police District 14 are asking for assistance in locating a missing toddler from the Farmington area. The toddler, Bently Dutz, was last seen in the Farmington Area at 5:01 PM on 12/15/2018. The infant was last seen in a 2000 gold Ford Taurus Illinois License Plate: AT70987 with a cracked front windshield. If you have seen the vehicle in question – please call 911-. If you see the vehicle do not approach the vehicle. The vehicle was last known to be in the Bartonville area at 6:00 PM. The attached photo of the vehicle is for representation purposes only.

Three guys stole one car? That's unusual. And the car they chose was a 2000 Ford Taurus? This doesn't seem entirely right in my mind, at least if the car was the actual target here. Only explanation that could make this all make sense to me is if they were targeting a car to use in a later crime. Otherwise... I'll reserve comment at this time.

Three suspects, they had to know there was a baby in the car as one would be sitting in the back with him.

They know the name of one of the suspects which makes me wonder if it was a targeted abduction.

Whatever the reason it is a very scary situation.

It’s concerning that it’s been 48 hours and little Bentley is still missing. Usually with cases like this where the motive is to steal the car the perps drop the child off somewhere. It makes me think that maybe the motive wasn’t a random car theft.

Regardless, I hope Bentley is safe, unharmed and being cared for.

I thought this was a bit off too! But, I was waiting to see if it was just me being up for wayyyy too long. lol! I guess not. And now this scares the beegeejeezeeaaaz outta me for this darlin’ little guy.
I pray that he is dropped off at s safe place and they just take the car and go on their way. So be it! Thank you heavenly angels!!
