The local stations are all over it.

According to the City of Peru Police Department, physical evidence was collected from the scene indicating the victim was taken against her will.

Investigators also found a pink tie-dye "Rouge" sandal, size 7.5, in the area of the incident.

The FBI is providing investigative assistance to lead investigative agency Peru Police Department.

I hope that sandal will trigger a memory in someone!

Found this list of teenage girls missing from the Chicago area in the last month or so. Most are just a bit younger than the kidnapped girl is reported to be.

I am stymied as to why we haven't been given some sort of description of the possible teen female. I can't find anything. This also puzzles me:

A teenage girl who has not been publicly identified was kidnapped off the street in Peru, Illinois Monday morning, the FBI said.

Peru police declined to provide any additional information about the girl Tuesday.

so . . do authorities know her identity but haven't divulged it? We don't even know this girl's race or any other means of identifying her even if the public should see her. Troubling.

I did find this though:

The Peru Police Department is scheduled to hold a press conference on the case at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Hoping they have more info to share because a maybe vehicle type and color with zero victim descriptors is not helpful for a public who would like to be on the lookout.

My guess is they are either keeping the name withheld for a reason... OR since there were multiple reports from people, but it was 5 am and most likely still dark they weren't able to fully see a description/still half asleep to fully register what was going on...

I wish we had a description too.

We do have her shoe size: 7.5.

As a teen my shoe was 6.5 and I was 5'3". I went up a size after having kids, so I'm guessing she was taller than I was as a teen. Yes, I know this is rather an absurb way to get a description, but all we know for now is she was wearing 7.5 sandals and may or may not be around 5'5" or taller or shorter. Of any race. From Peru or not.

Not much to go on.

Violent struggle at scene.

Woman was recovered in Peoria.

afterthought: the Delphi LE need to talk to the Peru police chief about how to effectively release information and work with the public.

Victim has been interviewed by fbi and police.
Team of detectives went door to door in Peru and pretty much followed video path of that vehicle.
Vehicle chased her then physical confrontation.
