Family of a man who’s been missing since last week from Albany Park are asking the community for help in their search for the 53-year-old father of four.

Hector Manuel Franco Tello was last seen about 6:50 a.m. March 9 leaving home for work in the 4900 block of North Spaulding Avenue, according to a missing person alert from Chicago police.

His actions the day he disappeared were “out of character,” according to Pastor Emma Lozano, who spoke to Tello’s wife and is helping the family.

I just saw msm article about this case.

North Park University is right where he lives. There are dorms and student parking on Spaulding very near his home and where his car was found.

The north branch of the Chicago River cuts through Campus. They need to search the River.

The only other weird thing going on in this area are some huge fires in businesdes that have been a total loss. All in the last month or so. I can't say they are related but something hinky is happening in Albany Park.

Thanks for the update Cubby. I live in Chicago but was really busy at work this week and haven't been keeping up with the news media. Will await confirmation but I'm thinking it is Mr. Tello. Prayers for his family as they await more word.

It could be... However, there is a park and trail here. In reality, it could be anyone.

All we know is a male. No indication on clothing or an estimated time in the water.

Oh this is so, so sad. I read comments that he "works as an upholsterer and is the main breadwinner for his family, which includes children ages 6, 13, 18 and 25" and many people are worried that the family will become displaced without him. Many prayers to all concerned that they will find peace in the days to come.

There was an interesting mention of his efforts in 2008 re "The Spaulding Building":
