I'm wondering the same thing. I have so many more questions about this case now than I did this morning.

Was it accidental, or did he go there with the intent of killing them?
If not accidental, what was the motive?
What was his relationship with the victims? I assume he knew Jake at least, as he lived down the road from his family.
Did Jessi and Jake witness something out there and had to be silenced?

So many thoughts running through my head at the moment.

What the hell happened out there?

I'm pretty sure the place where the guy used the phone is not in Edwards County.

I also think the guy who asked to use the phone was not Danny Coston. That hasn't been confirmed; just my opinion. He lived near the crimescene. There would be no need for him to walk up to someone's house and ask to use the phone.

I am looking for public records/arrests for Danny Coston in Illinois...

But am finding "No Results"

Anyone having any better luck?

Does he have a past record?

Was he drunk/on drugs?

Does he have DUI's?

No freakin' way it was accidental. You don't accidentally shoot someone in the head 3 times.

:blushing: That's sweet of you, Jersey Girl. I was actually on Websleuths a bit before all this. I actually registered so I could comment on a thread regarding a serial killer from my home town. And then I skimmed some of the well-known case threads, and I've been following the Amy Bradley thread closely (another one you should all check out).

It has been interesting following this case that happened so close to me. I'm glad I could provide info for all of you. Not sure what I will do with myself now- I'll admit I've been kind of glued to this. I'm glad it's mostly resolved now, and I'm glad Jake's name has been cleared, but my heart is heavy. This is not a good outcome- it's terribly tragic and makes no sense.

Or he didn't expect anyone to be out there and mistook one of the kids as an animal, then killed the other to cover up his crime?

It's really hard to say. I wish they had more to release now, not sure if I can wait patiently until tomorrow... especially as it's only mid afternoon where I live and any news will likely be released while I'm asleep tonight.

Very glad the killer is in custody though. At least that's something.
