EGADS! The reason she is sure it wasn't Jacob is because he loved his TRUCK too much to leave it there??? Oh my.....I have no words.
Praying for Jessica's family and hoping Jacob is found safe and had nothing to do with any of this.

I am wondering if anyone knows if Jacob had a gun, and if so, did he take it with him? Was there evidence that they had been fishing? I hope Jacob is found soon and this whole mystery solved. I hope he wasn't the one who killed the girl. I didn't see anything anywhere that made it seem like he was a bad guy. Was the girl pressuring him to divorce his wife?

Anything is possible here, but I just think that if Jacob did this he would have hid her (maybe in the river) and took his truck to flee. She was found in his truck that was down an embankment. . .that just doesn't seem right to me. Where would he be and how would he get away? I hate to say this. . .unless he committed suicide somewhere after. . .it just doesn't add up to me.

I hope they find him soon and we can get some answers.

My worst fear is that he was killed in order to get to her.

ETA- I guess I'll just say it, because I can't help but keep thinking it. . .not that it has any bearing here. . .but why is a 17yr old girl out camping with a 22yr old man?

Is the river by the embankment? could he have been trying to run the truck off in the river and it got stuck on the way?
Seems if he did this he would have disposed of her and took off in his truck.
Another theory is someone was trying to set him up for murder?

Search is on For Missing White County Man

snipped...Maier says, "We were out there {Monday} evening doing a lot of ground searching. (Tuesday), we started at daybreak this morning. We've had K-9 units on the ground, we've had a lot of people on the ground searching that area. We had a plane in the air for aerial surveillance."

Agencies from several counties are forming search crews and exhausting all measures to find Wheeler. They're going through the woods, combing through corn fields, and even the river to find either a body or Wheeler alive.

Back for a min and I'm sorry if someone has already discussed this(been gone) but what if something happened at the campground resulting in her death? Could be accidental, could be more than one person here, not ruling it out. Gun shot wound to the head is pretty telling though.

Is it possible Jacob was fleeing and wrecked the truck with her in the back. I think thats what happened here, but the question is was he responsible and is out in the woods on the run. Or was someone else responsible and he fled trying to get help, got into a wreck and now disoriented in the woods?

So it appears the truck was deliberately placed there and the keys missing. Did they think no one would find it and would return for it? Why leave a dead body in it just in case tho?
None of this is making any sense yet.

It seems odd that if he did it, he left her in his truck and left his truck. I think it is also very interesting that the keys are missing. What else is on that key ring? At 22 and fresh out of the service, few young men would be in a position to buy such a truck, kwim? It seems odd to me that the would dump the truck, but yet the missing keys make me think he may have????

Well, gunshot doesn't sound like a crime of passion. After all, someone can be shot at a certain distance. If it was strangling or stab wounds, then that would show a sign of rage and closeness to the victim.

I hate to say but it almost sounds like a drug deal gone wrong.

As far as a 17 year old camping out with a 22 year old, that wouldn't happen in my house. But, kids have been known to lie and say they are staying over here or there with female friends...but all along they have another plan that they know mom and dad wouldn't approve of.

Well something happened since yesterday when they said they didnt know if he was also a victim or a suspect to name him a suspect today. They must have found something or found something out.

What's weird to me is that on fb, two weeks ago he was out with two other girls. If Jessi was his gf, who are these other two girls? He thanks them for taking him riding (horses)

Maybe they were just friends or relatives. Doesn't really seem unusual to me.

I would assume that a young man who seems to love the outdoors and was in the military would have a gun. Most people around here have a gun. And if he had one, I would guess he would take it with him. I personally wouldn't go camping in a remote area without a gun!

You shoot someone three times in the head to kill them. I mean, there is just no way that is an accident. I doubt she was shot from a distance either. She would have fallen after the first shot. It would be very difficult to hit someone in the head three times from a distance. More likely that it was up close. So terrible...she was so young.

I'm guessing the gun caliber info has not been released because this is still an ongoing investigation.

I wonder if they can tell where she was killed. Was it in the bed of the truck, or was she killed somewhere else, then put in the truck? Maybe she was asleep back there when someone shot her.
