When did his wife move "recently from the area" and when did he start seeing Jessica?

Im not gonna throw any rocks at you Simp..Im aiming at "disclosure".
EWWW...just plain tacky.

Disclosure? Tacky? What a shock. ;)

If it's where they were fishing, somebody could have happened upon them & killed both of them. It bothers me that the keys weren't in the truck. If Jacob did this, why wouldn't he have left the keys in the truck?

Maybe it was just habit to take them out and put them in his pocket. I'm assuming they parked the truck by the road and walked down the bank to the river. He would probably take the keys so no one could drive off with the truck.

Students and faculty members at the Norris City Omaha Enfield High School on Monday mourned the death of Jessica Evans. The 17-year-old high school senior was found shot to death Monday afternoon at a remote location in northern White County.

This is so heartbreaking for them. This is a small community, where everyone knows everyone. I remember when a girl in my small high school died in an accident, and how sad it was for everyone. I can't imagine how much worse it is when that person was murdered.

You're welcome Dushi, all good :)

Didnt Disclosure have an article the other day that both were dead? Id take what they say with a grain of salt and trust more 14 news weht Evansville Courier.

Maybe they were both shot in the bed of the truck, but Jacob survived (unknown to the perp) long enough to leave the bed of the truck and get somewhere?! Total speculation, but could explain the "looking for a body"....he may of made it to the 'house' to hide.

Are there any reports that his wife has been contacted?

What are the stats for 3 shots to the head?

I mean, 3? Could it actually be an inexperienced shooter? Is it possible the 2nd shot was a nervous jerk made by someone not accustomed to using a gun but the 3rd one was for the kill?

If the shot was done by Jake, then why 3? He's trained to kill with 1.

I wonder if the shots were from a distance or close range. If close, then exactly how close.

Wish we knew or had an idea of the splatter pattern. There had to be one & it had to be where she was located bc police said they now believe there's only 1 crime scene.

People saw them Sat night at MCDonalds and they were having a good time. Mom talked to her and she was ok. Cant think of a motive for him to do this unless he has flashbacks from Iraq and thought she was a bad guy and killed her.

Yes, she posted on that Disclosure sure that she's been in contact with le. Said she moved to TX but was in FL visiting her mother or family.

So how long ago did she move? Did their breakup have anything to do with his new relationship? If it did, could he have been guilt ridden over it?

Sorry if this has already answered, but was his fishing gear there; if so, where? What I remember reading last night is that she told her mother around mdnight that she had just(?) caught a fish. If they were fishing at midnight, she may have gone to take a nap in the back of the truck since she had to work in a few hours. If he was fishing when someone came by and shot her, he could have gotten some distance before he was caught/shot too.

Yes, several accounts of her being contacted and she has posted comments on a FB site

Don't know if I can post the site

Separated, not divorced

Poor guy saw a lot of death & destruction...

http://icasualties.org/Iraq/Fatalities.aspx

Army & Marines have the most deaths & casualties.

I have to respectfully disagree with this. Mosul is in the northern part of Iraq, where fighting has been at a minimum for a long time now. (My brother-in-law served in this area when he was in Iraq). I'm not trying to minimize his service or say that he never saw anything bad, but compared to places like Bagdhad or Fallujah, Mosul is pretty quiet.

The Little Wabash River...

Where are the boat slips or lower land locations? Could somebody slide a boat in the water? It was said that there's a dam. How far is that dam from the location of the truck? What is the water depth, clarity, biological makeup, direction of flow?

Sure, you could slide a boat into the river, assuming you wanted to walk through all the weeds and brush to get to it. Usually you have to kind of climb down a bit of an embankment to get to the edge of the river. The Little Wabash is small and not very deep. In fact, right now, it's only 3 feet deep. I'm not sure if there are any public boat slips around here; it's just not a very big river.

I doubt anyone is taking large speed boats or pontoon boats down it right now. Most of the people around here use john boats (rowboats) or small bass boats when they go out on the river. You could launch them from almost anywhere, assuming you can get your vehicle close enough to the edge of the water.

Almost all rivers flow south. There is no dam that I'm aware of; someone may have been confusing it with the big Wabash River.

I could be wrong just as much as anybody else BUT I honestly don't think he did it...

Exactly, that's a great thought!

Based on the very little I know, I see him as a victim, not a murderer at this time

Been wrong before, but can't shake the feeling...

I think there is alot more to this story and Im not sure he did it either.

Disclosure is an underground newspaper, not a mainstream one. They are dedicated to exposing corruption and crime in Southern Illinois, and of printing stuff that the other papers are too afraid to print.

I'm not sure I would call them "inaccurate" as much as "sensationalist." I think they are a little quick to jump the gun and report stuff that later turns out to be rumors. They use a lot of anonymous sources to get their information. I don't want to slam them, because I know the owner and I think he means well...I will say that I think they are trying to handle this situation with respect to all parties involved, and are trying to confirm the info being put out before posting it. Their latest update came directly from the White County Sheriff, so that is a good sign.

Jessica was a senior in high school. She was 17. I see many many many 17 y/o girls dating 21-24 y/os. I think it's much more common than some may think. There's nothing illegal about it.

However, camping out overnight? Calling her mom after midnight saying she just caught a fish? The mom said she sounded happy, like she was having a good time.

Call after midnight Sat night + having to be at her babysitting job by 5:00-5:30am Sunday morn = a specific time frame for this crime. Certainly narrows the tod.

Well, I guess 5 years age difference is better than 30 years difference, right? (Think DP.)
Still... I would not approve if my daughter was dating a 22-24 y.o. married man, even if the couple were separated. Sorry, I'm old fashioned and it has nothing to do with this, I'm sure.

I totally agree. I could be wrong too but, I'm sad to say, I'm waiting for the announcement that they have found his body. I hope he is alive, maybe injured somewhere.

I wonder if they found his blood in the back of the truck too and possibly he crawled off to get help and didnt make it? What makes no sense is they would kill both of them and not just leave the bodies together?
