snipped Friday afternoon, the White County Sheriff's Office was back out in the area where Wheeler's truck was found, trying to find any information on where Wheeler might be.

Deputies say, around 3:30 Friday morning, a helicopter from the Illinois Department of Transportation searched the area too, using special heat sensing technology, but didn't find Wheeler.

While officials search for clues, those who knew Evans are hoping closure comes soon.

"Just praying for those involved and the police, and that justice would come and that the family would feel love and that they would just feel support," said Hughes.

White County Sheriff Doug Maier tells 14 News, while Wheeler is named a person of interest in Evans' death, it is possible he too could be a victim.

Hughes says, when she met Jessica Evans at church a few years ago, "She was just really a sweet girl right off the bat, super bubbly and super friendly, so we got to know her quickly."

Hughes says, in the past, Jessica had been involved in the youth group at Crossroads, and played acoustic guitar at church services.

She tells us the news of Jessica's death was difficult for everyone.

"Spent most of band practice just kind of putting music aside and just praying for family and friends that were super close with her."

Thank you for sharing the video. It indeed made me very sad. Also, it made me so sad to think I have been hoping this kid is innocent of any wrong-doing..... but does that mean I'm hoping they find him dead? KWIM? I know that sounds extremely rude to say but, if I want him innocent... does that mean I want him to be dead? Really, what are the chances of him being somewhere injured after this amount of time?? That sure makes me sound cold hearted.... My sincere apologies, but it's really bothering me.

Of course I don't want him to be dead!!

I kind of feel the same. As much as I want him to be innocent in all of this, the very real possibility is that if he is innocent, he is also deceased. Unless he's being held somewhere by someone for some reason, if he is innocent it's more likely he was moved to a different location (for reasons unknown at this time) then killed. Either that or the searchers have missed his body and he's still out there. I just think that the chances of finding him alive (and innocent) are very very slim.

In saying that, I still don't get the vibe that he is a cold blooded killer. They seemed to be having such a great time all night, then something happened after midnight to change this? I don't believe he took her out there with the intent to kill her, and as I've said in previous posts I don't find it anything odd that he took a gun out to a remote location for protection. Unless he has everyone fooled about his true character (which has happened in cases before), and he went out there with every intention that she would not be returning... which I suppose could also be a possibility. The call to her mother could have been something that he saw as in his favor, if she was so happy being out there with him, how could he have done something like this... that kind of thing. While I don't feel this is the case, people have been fooled about people they think they know in the past.

I still believe that the killing was not done in the heat of the moment during an argument, three shots to the head doesn't strike me as a killing of passion, it seems cold and calculated.

After sleeping on it, I'm not sure what I think about this case anymore. I still hold out hope that Jacob is innocent, but at the moment, neither option is making me feel too good at all.

Here's to hoping he's found soon.

It's a bunch of pictures of him set to music.
Does anyone know if the more recent pictures of him are the ones which he appears to be thinner? I guess the military tones a guy up so I shouldn't speculate anything concerning weight loss. Obviously the ones with the female are a little older (assuming that is his "wife").

Waitasec... I thought the inside of a barrel would make certain markings on a bullet as the bullet exits the barrel. They might not be able to match up the bullet to the gun without the actual gun to compare to, but they could check out the bullet to figure out the type of gun it was used in. No?

Yes, the barrel of a gun makes certain markings on a bullet. But you have to take the gun, fire another bullet through it, then comparing the markings on that bullet to the ones from your crime scene. Each gun makes it's own individual markings. Kind of like fingerprints.

If they have recovered bullets from the crime scene, they should be able to tell what caliber of gun was used (maybe not what brand of gun). If it was a small caliber weapon like a .22, there is a possibility that the bullets shattered on impact and would be useless for ballistics tests. I've heard of that happening before. Most likely, the police at least know what caliber of gun was used, but they haven't released that info yet.

It's horrible of me to think this, but part of me hopes that it WAS Jake, because at least then we'd know where he is. If it's NOT Jake, hopefully whoever it is can point LE in the right direction to find him.

It is totally possible that this is just a rumor. I mean, earlier in the week, they were saying Jake had been found shot as well. I've got Disclosure's FB page up; we will probably hear it there first.

Hang on, here it is saying that Jessica MESSAGED her mother to tell her about the fish. I thought her mother had actually spoken to her?

Evans was last heard from when she messaged her mother that she&#8217;d caught her first fish shortly after midnight Sunday.

If her mother hadn't actually heard her voice, it's possible it wasn't Jessi that texted her... giving Jake more time to cover his tracks?

Local radio is reporting someone confessed, and it wasn't Jake. They're looking for his body now.
