IL - Kenneka Jenkins, 19, found dead in hotel freezer, Rosemont, 10 Sept 2017 #2

from that press release, LE (which "could" include FBI, though I personally don't think this is they type of case they get involved in) is reviewing all sorts of social media/FB pages.

This is not a missing person case, a child, an unidentified, nor was she taken over state lines. What grounds would FBI have to get involved?

Honestly, I'm not sure on the validity of that, but I do remember seeing that somewhere. There's been a lot of false info in this case.

I will admit the press release says a private lab though so I might have to agree with you.

FWIW KJ has 3 Facebook accounts. I know some are wondering about a brother...you can find him somewhere in those 3

We do some previous partiers here !

Do you all remember how when you stepped out of a bar and it was cold out -- wowee did that clear out your head quick!!

Can you imagine walking into minus 50 degrees or something !

WOW some clarity would sure hit huh!

It would have to a private entity something that local officials will probably select.

At this point the small police dept has overtly rejected the FBI having anything to do with this investigation for some reason

I would welcome the experts in but that is just mo!

It would also budget wise move things along at a faster clip I would think -- more hands and brains and technology and stuff

Has anyone ever heard of LE agency refusing to work with the FBI?

moo

Rosemont police officials announced they would continue investigating Kenneka Jenkins death without support from the FBI.

The word support is important here !!

Oh brother I ----- just thought gosh this is like refusing if someone offered some help while your moving

ahhhhhhh!

It is somewhat unique if you think about it that not one hotel employee has said one word.

about anything

usually one hears from neighbors, friends, co workers, a guest in the hotel that evening , especially in a story so big .

Usually media kinda likes stalks people they want a sound bite out of

There has been no reporting on a hotel manager , staffing levels that night , a person standing on the street when two cop cars stopped in with there lights on etc etc

It is a reasonably sized property , after two weeks one might imagine a news reporter getting a story from someone connected to the hotel.

Has anyone heard anything from anyone that was working that night, or in the many hours during the search - when a deceased person was located on sight??

I was under the mistaken impression that GHB “roofies” were difficult to find in the body after a few hours but I stand corrected. Here is more accurate info:

When GHB intoxication is suspected, a urine specimen (100 mL in a sterile container) should be collected. The half-life of GHB is 27 minutes, so a specimen collected more then 96 hours after the event may be of little value. If the assault occurred within the previous 24 hours, blood should also be collected and refrigerated in a grey-top tube containing sodium fluoride and potassium oxalate.3

In the presser where they stated they were creating video scenes and using 3D mapping I became curious about high speed 3D investigation stuff.

It sounds serious.

IMO this is good - maybe they are just keeping everything tight - and throwing out there no foul play so fast to (if there are any ) perps to think they are gonna go for accident and then get em (if there is anyone to get)

Best news I have heard since this started! If it were not an accident I want them caught -- all the way around this is (if it is ) a really cruel and mean and nasty event.

Whatever happened this child was probably scared for a really long time --

So I did some research. Apparently one application of it is for vehicular crashes -- where they can then go back and create animation of the crash sequence.

 • Analysis tools for vehicle momentum, crush, speed from skids, bullet trajectories, blood spatter, and more

At another site I found this interesting application of this technology

after

physician death investigators and disseminating the professional and technical information vital to the continuing improvement of the medical investigation of violent, suspicious and unusual deaths. Growing from a small nucleus of concerned physicians, NAME has expanded its scope to include physician medical examiners and coroners, medical death investigators and medicolegal system administrators from throughout the United States and other countries.

By implementing our reflectorless technology into your workflow, crime scenes can now be mapped and documented with precision and efficiency, all while keeping critical evidence undisturbed. A single investigator can easily collect 3D coordinates from a safe distance, ensuring reduced contamination and a secure evidence.

LTI's Crime Scene Mapping System makes documenting a crime scene simple. This is the crime scene mapping field-to-courtroom solution you have been waiting for!
Finally, a solution exists that solves all the problems presented with traditional measurement equipment and close-proximity mapping. The cutting edge technology of this system is unmatched and gives investigators the step up needed to get the job done quickly

nvestigators can measure to anything, from anywhere with extreme accuracy, ensuring a fair and accurate representation of the crime scene at hand.

Processing a crime scene--taking pictures, measurements, notes and more--is a laborious and pain-staking process. Anything that can make this faster, while at the same time improving accuracy, attention to detail and preserving the scene for later review or presentation to a jury, is a welcome addition to any police department.
Today, the technology mainly consists of 360 degree cameras and laser scanners, which accomplish different things, both beneficial to law enforcement. Police departments all over the world are adopted these technologies to varying degrees.

It is interesting while being a bit confusing in that no foul play was declared pretty instantly-- wonder why they are bringing in such high tech stuff for a stumble into a freezer ?

It is amazing stuff !

pure speculation here

maybe by declaring no foul play so fast it gives them time to get people safe - where they might talk.

Pure speculation but if we are in fact talking about something organized some of these kids could actually be in danger . speculation only

Cant give themselves away -- and purely speculation maybe people are talking already but might be scared to death.

I would be scared to talk - just speculating- if I saw something I was not supposed to see .

Actually I have thought about this before on some cases -- would be very nerve racking to say this least -- just speculating now that I learned about what that 3D stuff is!

i would be too scared that I could not be kept safe. Cant be guarded 24/7 for the rest of my existence!

I might mail a name or something !

I would probably have a heart attack or stroke from anxiety!

https://chicago.suntimes.com/chicag...neka-jenkins-family-tours-crowne-plaza-hotel/

This article mentions the text message sent to the sister and the sister filing the missing persons report. But it doesn't say the sister name.

If TH lived with KJ I guess it would be her that filled it? That's another mystery IMOO

Per the link below:

The MPR was filed by Leonore Harris. After the MPR was filed, the hotel began to actively search the hotel.

'After the hotel referred her to police, Martin said she called 911, and dispatchers told her to wait a few more hours because Jenkins could be out with friends."We were begging for help, and no one was helping," Jenkins said." "
I'm sorry, but the above, in quotes, is blatantly untrue, based on the 911 call that I heard between TM (the mother) and the 911 operator.

Even earlier in this thread or the thread before people were convinced their were shadows of someone following her and people taunting her by calling her name from down the hallway. No. It's called mirrors and crappy CCTV. My old iPhone3 takes clearer videos than most surveillance cameras.

I need to rewatch the interview with TH. Unfortunately (maybe fortunately with this case) I don't have the opportunity to watch videos as much as I can read articles due to work scheudle and my husband sleeping next to me as we speak lol

BBM

I use headphones a lot, especially if it is an interview that is available on YouTube. I can slow down the speech. I'm used to folks asking me to repeat things because of my accent, and a lot of people here have much thicker accents than mine, but I can understand them. (If anyone has ever watched the cartoon Family Guy, I had a friend, may he r.i.p., who pretty much talked like Boomhauer. We had no problem understanding him. lol) When folks are from further up North, I have to listen a little more carefully, so video is really nice to have if the interview is uploaded to YT, b/c I can slow it down. Northern folks talk a little faster than we do. However, I still read the articles a lot of times too because of ease, as they've been transcripted for me. However, with reading an interview, unless its been very well written, (which is becoming a lost art, imo), you miss the nuances of the interviewer's, and interviewee's, tone, body movements, and inflection, that you get with a video/audio interview.

Dumb question. Are any of these type freezers mobile?
Like a hospital bed with the 4 brakes on all wheels? Or maybe a large safe?
Thinking...
MOO

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Not a dumb question, but, yes, there are mobile, upright, and chest type, commercial freezers.

We seem to be on the same page as far as everyone else. I hope this further has them look at that footage and listen to interview with LH again.

*TeamKitchenUpstairs*.

It makes me sick and sad thinking what happened downstairs. [emoji20]

If they were permitted to go back there, and they've said from the beginning that they did, and they did i.d. KJ's body in that general area if I'm not mistaken, after they'd secured, and processed the scene, has there been anything stated by KJ's mother, or sister, as to what, specifically, floor she was found on, or if they used an elevator, escalator, or stairs, or just walked down a hall, to get to that floor? I have tried to keep up but there's so many videos by so many people with a lot of misinformation, conspiracy theories, attention seeking, and/or just plain falsehoods, that it's kinda tough to weed everything out, so I may have missed that one.

Her lawyers said in the press conference that the video that shows KJ walking in the kitchen is NOT WHERE SHE WAS FOUND. If you go back again to the interview with LH ,the reporter asks her where the freezer was if you listen to her directions and colors of doors she guides you into the unused Kitchen on lobby level (main level.) Someone also next to her said "oh it's in the basement right?" And LH responded with "No it's in the lobby."

Another point that makes me believe the kitchen is on lobby level (main level). KJ's uncle aka TM brother put up in YouTube the path in which TM and LH took to the kitchen that day to ID KJ..he's on the lobby level!!

Hi CARIIS,

This one has been particularly hard to keep up with. However, the 911 call from Mom, and the hotel telling Mom all they needed was the Missing Persons Report to be filed, are two things that has stuck with me. They needed those two things but Mom doesn't do either, immediately, that morning, other than calling 911. She actually makes the decision that she's going to wait 24 hours. If it wasn't for LH, they'd not have started searching when they did. I do believe she walked into that freezer at around 3:20-3:30 a.m., and she was beyond resuscitation by the time her mom first called LE at 7:15 a.m. but if she hadn't been, her mom passed up the option to go to the police department, (which is less than 1.5 miles from the hotel), and file a MPR, and get things moving, right that moment.

I enjoy your posts, and appreciate your input, CARISS, but I just don't see any fault on behalf of LE or the hotel.

Is there a title for that YouTube video? I found one a few days ago and all you could see was the floor and some sides of appliances.

Yes, this statement is very unfair to the dispatcher. That also makes me question her claims that the hotel staff were rude and unconcerned too.
