True, just all the talk of Zanny bars in their social media etc (which look distinctive) made me think how generally boring topamax looks.
I didn't know Valium once looked like that - clever marketing!

I didn’t know bars of Xanax looked exciting to some people. It’s a rectangular pill. IMO if they thought bars were cool looking, it shows a lack of knowledge and a presence of immaturity. They prob talked about bars on their videos to look cool.

But if you were taking it for weight loss and appetite suppression, would you take it in the middle of a hotel party?

There is a girl in one of the videos, who looked kind of out of it, and had a cold cloth to her face, just like K was doing too.

So it seems like at least one other girl at the party tried one of the pills that night too.

I had leaned towards her being drugged, but I cant see any reason that anyone would secretly give her this particular drug. Could it be used as a date rape drug?

Kenneka's autopsy doesn't indicate assault, sexual or otherwise. According to the findings she was a healthy young woman. Alcohol combined with the drug topiramate appears to have rendered her unaware of her surroundings and what she was doing which caused her to stumble into the freezer. IOW a tragic accident. I'm so sorry that intimate details of Kenneka's body had to be released to the public in order to quash the conspiracy theories. And sadly, it's likely they'll continue anyway.

Interesting enough Topamax can also be prescribed to reduce the urge to drink alcohol. Maybe they thought it would help “sober” her up, or reduce the eventual hangover (migraine treatment). I hope no one gave her the topamax as an attempt to keep her from drinking. I can see a desperate parent trying that with a child who is parting too much. The statements about her “not being able to drink much” and “a cup was too much for her”. Makes that evil thought wander through my suspicious mind.

In a time long long ago teens used to have “pie” parties. Everyone brought a some pills as the price of admission, they put them all in a pie pan and you got a surprise. There were a lot of overdoses and bad trips and drug interactions. The dumber and younger groups just stole from their parents med cabinets mixing blood pressure, blood sugar, antibiotics, birth control and more into a scary often deadly mix.

My point is when it comes to immature brains partying, anything goes has been the standard a long time. JMHO

The only 'exciting' pill I could think about more street pharma X and the only exciting thing in looks would be whatever it stamped with. Kinda like how acid hits used to have their own patterns for identity.

Having taken Topamax for six months I have to say it didn't reduce the desire to drink, just the ability to enjoy it. If you had been drinking and then had a big dose for the first time it would be disgusting. If you took it regularly a cup would be too much, but K had quite a bit of alcohol in her system.

I am sorry for the loss of Kenneka Jenkins life, it is truly a tragedy.

I have to interject as to the Topamax discussion, I take it for nerve pain caused by a herniated disc and it has been a life saver for me. It does not make me feel dopey or hot or cold. I feel normal and I take a high does and have for many years. I take many drugs that say don't drink alcohol, but I do have an occasional drink and it does not effect me. All our chemical make ups are different and a drug that you take may effect you differently than someone else. Always keep that in mind when talking about drug side effects cause there are always the exceptions.

Now how it would effect a first time user with alcohol is a different story! I will leave it at that

I find it so appalling that video of her dead body being wheeled out of the freezer had to be released to the public. :sigh:

I guess after studying Travis Alexander's wounds for years, I wasn't really upset by this.

I read the report and I have some questions. I want to know what happened to her other shoe. I want to know how her right leg got bruised in the back. I want to know how she had brain swelling when hypothermia reduces brain swelling.

I don't understand the whole "stairs" business unless there are stairs off camera in the kitchen.

We finally got some real freezer pics, though.

I wanted to see what was around that corner so bad. Just a dead end, literally.

Somebody needs to say how she got that way. she wasn't that way at 235am on the snapchat footage. And one other girl did look messed the hell up in the lobby. She might have been the one where the gang member in the white tanktop was like "i'm going to give this to that girl." She went across the room to where the girl was sitting on top of another girl. Those two were in the lobby later and one of them was really messed up. I think the gang member in the white tank top gave her ice water, though. People keep saying it looked like a weird drink. But I see a clear drink with ice cubes.

The guy who was doing gang signs and saing "on BD" was helping looking for KJ later. He was with Monifah and her friends in the lobby.

She could have take multiple shots in a row. I did that when I was around 17 bc I was at a party and didn’t know any better. I was fine one minute and the next I was a hot mess that probably should have been taken to the hospital.

I agree, which is why I'm saying someone knows what happened between 235am and 324am when we see her get off that elevator on the wrong level. She was literally right below everyone and they didn't know it.

If she was acting normal one minute, but went to what we saw in the video -- who would not have noticed that?

Looking at the party footage, they all seemed to stay within 5 feet of each other. By all I mean Maya, Monifah, and Kenneka. I have no idea where Brianna took herelf. She left the hotel entirely, according to survelliance.

I’m curious about the shoe too. I don’t put too much stock into the bruise, it could have been there from before the party. The private autopsy said no signs of injury from a physical attack so my gut tells me the bruise is from an earlier time.

Indeed they were, she needs to sit through them like the rest of us. Wasn’t_me Explained to me above that the tapes are being released for our access a little at a time, but the should all be available. I would wager a bet that Mom can go to the police department and see them all if she prefers that to "at home viewing”.

Just my opinion, but Mom did not seem too upset when viewing the body of her daughter. it would have been so difficult had it been me in that position to not be crying hysterically and wanting to wrap my arms around my child. not sure if they were instructed to not touch her, but the sister seemed more concentrated on Kenneka. No one needs to tell me “we all grieve differently” as I know some just don’t show emotion in the same way as others, but it really struck me as to how I would feel. Again, JMO

After watching the viewing video, and I know people react in different ways, how on earth did she even get close enough to tell much about KJ's hair. Throughout this I've felt so sad for KJ. A young person, just out to enjoy herself, and over celebrated. As many others have done, and have lost their lives, too.

I've had a hard time watching/listening, to mom, after I listened to the 911 tape. I was very surprised when she said she'd begged for help from LE (just not true). Then I found out KJ's sister filed the MPR that afternoon, and I got angry with the mom, and wondered what she thought she had to complain about with LE, or anyone, when she'd not driven the 1.5 miles to the station that morning, at 7:15 and filed the MRP, herself.

Quite honestly she could do some self-reflection. She is the one who gave her daughter the keys to her car, at 11:30 at night. Chicago, after midnight is dangerous in many areas, some areas well before that (even to go to a movie and bowling). I began having trouble working up any empathy for her.

Then, no obituary? I have never found an obituary for the child. Nothing. You know, a simple record of her parents, grandparents, and siblings, that she'd graduated h.s. from..., and had just gotten a job at..., what she enjoyed in life, just a simple record of who she was in life. Maybe it shouldn't, but it bothers me. I read folk's obit, it's their little paragraph in history, in this big world. No, I know I shouldn't feel this way, but I saw her mom's tribute (?) to her on Twitter, right after KJ's death, and it was the only thing close to an obit, that I saw, and it takes a lot to shock me, but I was both shocked, and appalled.

I guess it's nice KJ got all of this attention in death, and all..., but it never seemed to me that it was ever truly about her.

But that is also the foot of the missing shoe. So it has to have something to do with the right shoe being missing. We see her walk to the freezer with both shoes on. What happened? You can't get a bruise post mortem.
