Will County jury deliberated for less than an hour this afternoon before reaching a verdict in the trial of Christopher Vaughn, the Oswego man accused of gunning down his wife and three children in the family’s SUV in 2007 in a bid to start a new life in the Canadian wilderness.

About 4:20 p.m. they told the judge they had a verdict, which would be read as soon as all the parties gather in the courtroom.

The above is from the link joe jones posted.

No emotion from CV in silent courtroom. Doesn't even look back at family. Only emotion is KV's family weeping quietly while jury polled. Sentencing Nov 26.

Will County jury deliberated for less than an hour this afternoon before convicting Christopher Vaughn of killing his wife and three children in the family’s SUV in 2007 in a bid to start a new life in the Canadian wilderness.

The jury of eight men and four women got the case about 3:30 p.m., after six hours of closing arguments without a break for lunch, and told the judge they had a verdict at about 4:15 p.m.

It was a long 5 years. Finally justice comes for Kimberly and her children.

I wonder why so long for the sentencing... and iirc, isn't Nov 26th the date Drew Peterson is scheduled to be sentenced too? I've seen both Oct and Nov but the same date for DP's case.

Wish I had Chicago channels; Jim Glascow about to speak, then jurors.

It looks like Drew and Christopher will be sentenced on the same day.

Glascow calls case not murder, but an atrocity. If any case demands the death penalty, this one did.

Jurors speaking now, crappy radio coverage. Jurors said one of the things they discussed during 40-odd minutes was his interviews, rehearsed answers, lack of reactions to pictures. Even during trial:no physical response to graphic photos of family. Never considered Defense's theories. Totality of evidence did him in.

Let's name his cell....."The Yukon" . I would've rather seen him get the death penalty...but the truth is we would all have to pay the millions to defend him. This would continue year after year.... Enjoy The Yukon and your stripper Chris !

Kim's family, jurors, prosecutors all having drinks at local bar (separately).

Kim's family having lemon drop martinis, her favorite drink :-D

Jurors looked bored during closings, looked like they wanted to get down to business. Stony-faced through out, some jurors stared Vaughn down as verdict read, he stared straight ahead (like always).

Just thought I'd drop back in after "duties" and say once again how humbled and grateful I am to the people of Will County.

This family has received justice. And I hope CV enjoys his survivor man life.

Me too. While he is surviving in prison I hope his ears ring with hearing his own words, "I have a choice" over and over and over. Yes, he did have a choice and this is what that choice led too. :censored:

I don't know if I've ever seen a verdict that swift.

Wow!
