Three sisters — a baby, a 4 year old and a 7 year old — lost their lives in an arson fire set by an angry man cheated out of a $10 sex romp, a Cook County prosecutor alleged Wednesday.

Reginald Hester, 51, of the 8000 block of South Essex Avenue, was held without bail on four counts of first-degree murder and two felony counts of aggravated arson causing bodily harm.

Man charged with killing 4 in arson fire dies while in jail awaiting trial

Reginald Hester, 53, had been terminally ill and had been transferred days ago to Stroger Hospital, where he died Tuesday night, according to Cara Smith, chief policy officer for the Cook County sheriff's office.

He was facing trial on four counts of first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated arson and bodily harm stemming from the fire in August of 2016 in the 8100 block of South Essex Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood.
