Jerry Hobbs, father of Laura Hobbs, has been arrested for the murders based upon physical evidence recovered, according to FOX news.
Good work for this police dept making a swift arrest. They sure didn't hem haw around about searching both houses and checking out evidence.
IMO they must have been working non stop on this case since it happened.

First time I saw a pic of Laura Hobbs, I looked at that little face and that look she has and thought, that little girl has been through some chit! She has knowledge of more bad things in life than good. Her eyes are distant and guarded. jmo

You know, the first time I saw her picture, I thought the same thing! She looks tough for an 8 year old, even though all accounts say she is very sweet. She has probably heard all kinds of bad things about her father, and hates him, now he's back in her life! Rebellion! Which is normal, and the father probably couldn't deal with it.

So please tell me, where was the mother, was she working that night? Maybe the girls came home, the father was angry and rode with her on her bike to the woods to punish them since they were not allowed to go there. I think the father was on the bike with one of the kids, to get there. But maybe not.

He does look scary in his picture! Angry. Bully. Can't beat up someone his own age so he beats up on his kid.

I think the reason so many people are off death row is because didn't the Univerity there discover so many people were wrongfully put there? A few years ago? :banghead:

Yeah. As in why wasn't his 🤬🤬🤬 in prison and why was he anywhere near his child and her friend and why hasn't he done the right thing and taken a chain saw to himself?

F***ing monster. Make him EAT the chain saw.

I thought the little girl looked guarded in the photo, too. I also have wondered from the beginning why these girls were out all day from the wee hours of the morning. It doesn't sound like they went home to eat or drink anything.

Laura's father could have been very abusive behind closed doors, and she tried to avoid him at all costs. Something set off this guy. I wonder if the truth (or anything close to it) will come out.

I think back to when I was 8 and we, my brother, myself and the neighborhood kids, would stay out very late playing around the neighborhood. Late meaning after it was dark. There was never worry that something would happen. And we would stay out all day, stopping at one of our houses to eat but mainly, it was about playing. We didn't want to take the time to eat. I don't think this is so abnormal unless now kids just don't do that anymore because of all the sickos here (which is one reason my husband and I will be raising our kids in Germany.)

I do agree something made this guy snap. I mean think about it, you're dealing with someone who is unstable at best. The last time he sees his family, the girl is really little, he gets out of prison and now she is bigger, has some opinions of her own and life is not what he expected. Mother and him fight, kid is always in the way, mother takes the kids side all the time, kid doesn't respect the father, mouths off, whatever. Ticking time bomb goes off. It's not so hard to figure out, just very sad.

Why the hell did the mother let him back into their lives like that? What was she thinking?

I remember it being like that when I was a kid too...

Why did the mom allow him in the house with a young daughter? We can't stop prisons from being forced to release these guys (unfortunately); however, I would think that moms would be more careful about who they allow near their children.

You'd think mom would be terrified of this guy but even the father in law was taking up for him.

Laura's mother talked to authorities around noon Tuesday and was told that Hobbs was still being held and had not confessed to any role in the girls' deaths, said Hollabaugh's wife, Emily Hollabaugh. She said authorities would not tell her anything else, and Hobbs was not allowed to talk to the family.

Is there a defense attorney in the picture yet?? Sounds like this is moving swiftly.

Well the arrest of Hobbs, will certainly make all the children of Zion feel comfy about going to bed tonight, and wondering if their father/stepfather/sig. other live in father figure, might kill them in their sleep.

Would hope this would open some eyes of folks who have someone in the family that appears to be a genuine NUT.

Incredible. I don't know how much longer I can take news like this.

Who is next???
WE cannot build jails fast enough. Best they just lock up the good people to protect us all from the evil ones that run loose on every street, in every state of America.

Wonder IF IF they have given HOBBS a LDT yet?

They haven't even officially named who's been arrested. Reporters are citing *sources* within the department only. Conference has been scheduled at 4:30 central.

We did this during the summer, but we always went home to eat and were called in for dinner. We definitely did not frequent the parks and woods close to dark. We were in the neighborhood and close to home by late afternoon. Didn't these girls have school the next day? If so, I would think that they needed to be home, getting their bathes and ready for the next day.

TY golfmom. I switched to Catherine Crier, Lisa Bloom with Mickey Sherman who is doubtful the father is the perp. He's having a hard time equating spousal violence as his prior to murder of two children. Ernie Rizzo mentions that there are 85 registered sex offenders in the immediate area.

Ah, those were the days, weren't they? I have an older brother and two younger sisters. We would go outside and play for hours on end with no fear of being snatched. That was unheard of where I lived. We could just tell our mother we were going outside and we weren't required to 'check in'. She just yelled for us, and we came home. If she didn't yell for us, we had to come in at dark time. Nowadays, you have to know where your kid is at all times.

As for what the mother was thinking.............she wasn't.
