"He's never exhibited any violence toward children," Mahler said of Hobbs. "We haven't seen it."

Checkered background? Chasing people with a chainsaw and stabbing a man for squealing his tires didn't give them a clue that this guy might be dangerous?
Cripes! Who cares if he had not 'yet' exhibited any violence toward childern. Violence is violence is violence is violence!!!:banghead: Or is that just me?

I have spent about 2 hours catching up on Laura and Krystal. My mind is swimming with all the info, many things though bother me.

Yes, as you can tell Im from Texas, not born and bred, but living here anyway. While Im not sticking up for our court system, I would imagine that the parasite was released early for "good" behavior while in jail, he also probably was credited with time while waiting for his trial. The prisons are full and from what a friend told me, if you are given 2 years, you might be in for 6 months.

Im almost sorry that he didnt live in Texas now, you know how we are--hang'em Harry's. Send him to my VERY conservative county and I guarantee he would be receiving the DP with about 2 hours of deliberations. No ifs, ands, or butts. We've only had 3 murders in the past 15 years and both men received the DP. One has been injected and the other is waiting for his date. Now that Im thinking, in Texas you might automatically receive the DP for killing a child. Need to check that one out..

Killing a child (under the age of six, I believe) in Texas makes you automatically "eligible" for the death penalty. The district attorney, the jury and the judge would need to agree for the defendant to receive it and then the appeals courts, etc. would have to uphold it. I believe, this guy, found guilty in Texas, would be quick to be put on death row though.

I so wish this crime happened in TX, 🤬🤬🤬 would be going through the death-penalty drive through window right now.

Yet read this quote from a link posted above:

"It's really sad," Mahler said of Laura's and Krystal's deaths.

His office has examined actions taken against Hobbs in Wichita County.

"Did we miss something? Did we not see something? We're always looking at that to see what we could have done," he said.

...................

Hobbs was arrested 30 times in 34 years! What was there to miss???? How could anyone really think a course in anger management would turn this monster into a teddy bear? I suppose it's okay to make these kind of decisions when it's not your own family that you're putting in danger.

hang in there darlin. I think they'll get him there soon enough. With him being the only one (Fox second) maybe he'll be executed before he's 90.

"A lineup of mug shots follows Jerry Hobbs through a decade of arrests in Wichita County. .....................

Mahler said Hobbs pleaded guilty to a felony but was punished as if it were a misdemeanor. Court records show Hobbs served 60 days in the Wichita County Jail."

Now tell me just how is it that Hobbs pleaded guitly to a felony stabbing and just because the victim beat hobbs up for stabbing him....the law decides to ignore the felony??????
If LE had not dropped the ball here, Hobbs chainsaw escapade would have landed him in jail for 10-15 years and Laura and Krystal would still be alive today! jmo

Why is mama isn't in jail right now is a mystery. Although those warrants might catch up with her now that she's made the national news.

Yep, in Florida.

Hobbs' mother moved into the neighborhood in Wichita Falls about 10 years ago after the death of Hobbs' father, who was a country-and-western musician, Dickerson said. Joann Hobbs works hard and always is tending to grandchildren, Dickerson said.

She's also a fugitive, records show. Hobbs, 53, violated the terms of her probation on a 1986 grand-theft conviction in Florida and is still wanted there, according to the Florida Department of Corrections Web site.

..........
Night deposit was missing
Then, the Hobbs family emerges in a long-forgotten police report filed in the summer of 1980 by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Four days into his mom's new job as a cashier at the Frosty Dan Food Store outside Tampa, a then-9-year-old Hobbs found himself packed with four siblings into his parents' red Chevrolet with the travel trailer hitched to the back, according to a police report. The family steered the car out of town as police were looking for the mother, a witness told officers.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter, who located the report Friday, said police had been called because a $1,279.93 night deposit was missing at the Frosty Dan store. The last person to have had access to the money, the report indicated, was Joann Hobbs.

A fugitive warrant for two counts of grand larceny for the mother of five remains active, said Manny Pondakos, an intelligence analyst with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

"If it got clear, that wouldn't be there," he said of the warrant.

.........
Hobbs' great-uncle, Raymond Morley, said the family was still struggling with the girls' brutal murders, especially Laura's mother.

"She's numb," Morley said. "She's in guilt and in mourning. We're trying to comfort her the best we can."

Morley said he did not know if Laura's mother believed Jerry Hobbs committed the murders. But he said if Hobbs was convicted, he deserved the death penalty.

"If they got their man, I don't think he deserves anything less than execution for something this horrible," Morley said. "He's brought this whole community to its knees."

I believe he was arrested 30 times since 1990-something. I remember thinking to myself that he was arrested more than twice a year on average since becoming an "adult".

Unknown: Did family search between 7-8:40?
8:40 sheila calls the police

I don`t think I would have rung the police after my kids are one and half hours late, after probably two hours or more but I live in a safer country, I think maybe she knew that the father would hurt them and knew then something was wrong when she didn`t appear at her allowed time outside. I can`t imagine stabbing my daughter (and I have 4 of them) I start crying if THEY bleed, how could you inflict that pain on your own flesh and blood. The world is getting sicker every day

It isn't about your own flesh and blood mentality. It is about their mentality.Their mentality is about themselves. What makes them tick or not. True evil in its most base level. We can't understand this ever...we have to understand that there are people out there with that thinking. That is where the protection comes in...never trust blindly. He is a most evil person and his mindset murdered two innocent children. Review it and apply it. I am mostly cynical now.The horrors are inexplicable and ongoing.
