A 16-year-old girl from Chicago’s South Austin neighborhood is missing, police said in a Saturday evening alert.

Ladasia Anderson, of the 5900 block of West Lake Street, has been missing since Friday, police said. Ladashia frequents the area of North Mayfield Avenue and West Lake Street, also in the South Austin neighborhood.

Linda Anderson, the girl’s mother, fears she may have left their West Side home after school Friday and ended up in bad company.

“She packed a bag and she left,” said Anderson, who said she hasn’t seen her daughter since Friday morning when she left for school. The girl’s father informed Anderson that their daughter came back after school, changed and left home without letting the family know where she was going.


Anderson said her daughter, whose hair is in braids, may have on a purple jacket and jeans. Ladashia may also have been wearing red, white,and blue sneakers, her mother said, and have hazel contacts in her eyes.

Ladashia is 5 feet tall and 155 pounds, according to the police notification.

I live in Chicago - so many times when the young teens that go missing are found safe they do NOT report it in the news. Hoping she has a safe resolution.
