Probably. What else would they use?

A lot of swat training is done without any amo at all. Or even real guns. A lot of it is just maneuvers, tactics, scenarios with role play, etc.

LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPLORING
PROGRAM GUIDELINES

The following safety standards and protocol are, as indicated, mandatory or recommended for use of NLTF that discharge paintballs or plastic projectiles.

Safety Briefing: A certified law enforcement firearms instructor and/or range safety officer must conduct a safety and rules of engagement briefing for all participants prior to the initiation of the training activity. At a minimum, the briefing will include the elements outlined in the NLTF Safety Briefing Requirements located in the Appendix section of these guidelines.

Site Selection/Security: Prior to the commencement of any NLTF exercise, the training area must be inspected for any hazards (i.e., trip/fall risks, broken glass, sharp objects, etc.) that may cause injuries to participants. Static vehicles, if used in the training exercise, must be searched for live weapons and other prohibited items.

Prohibited Items: Real fire weapons and/or live ammunition, impact devices, knives, chemical repellents and electrical shock devices are prohibited in the training area.

Participant Inspection: All participants, instructors, role players, and monitors must enter and exit the training area via a single checkpoint where each individual will be inspected by a certified instructor or range safety officer for live ammunition or other prohibited items. No one may enter or re-enter the training area without undergoing a thorough inspection.

As an added precaution, the loading of non-lethal ammunition into NLTF and magazines must be conducted by certified law enforcement instructor or range safety officer

Do they use live ammunition while on these exercises?

From what I could find out during these Swat Course they do not live ammo. It is more just familiarizing yourself with the weapons and then play acting a Swat scenario with them.

This training was done at 71 Nippersink so I doubt any sort of ammo was ever used there unless they have a shooting range at the Community Center/ Chamber of commerce.

Could be,if they're not out somewhere buying sandwiches

Night all

If he went out to BUY a sandwich, where would he go? I don't there are any sandwich shops close by. I will check.

Or was it a sandwich he brought from home. To eat before 8 in the morning. (?).

(I know you were being humorous, but it got me thinking.)

There is a Subway north just up the street off 12 on Grand Ave.
They open at 7 am.

There is another one south just off 12. They also open at 7 am

You can also get sandwiches at fast food restaurants, convenience stores, grocery stores, etc..... Anywhere at that time of day.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about the guy from Precision Chrome, whose last name is Vicicondi. The one interviewed as a possible witness. Did he say he was just out on a break? I was thinking of how far he'd have to walk to get a sandwich. Maybe he took his car.

I'll have to watch that interview again.

He said we just missed it, he was out getting a sandwich but we were actually outside when it happened.
My paraphrasing his statement.

In that area I'd hold off until closer to noon for a double cheeseburger and root beer at the Dog N Suds on Rollins Rd. Only 2 miles away, a friendly car hop will bring a little tray that hooks right on your window, don't forget to leave a nice tip!

I was just thinking he may have anted something close by. As an Operations Manager, I suppose he has more flexibility with his time.

Yeah, I know all those places from when I lived there. Maravela's, Dino's Den, the Whistle Stop...

One good thing is, I bet Subway and 711 have WORKING cameras!

Memory Lane - you still have a Dog N Suds in the area?
Incentive for a road trip for sure!

Those hours are probably customer hours and not the actual hours employees are on site.

Just saying...

Does the Precision Chrome building have lots of windows?

Just one data point- it's probably different in the Fox Lake area since the word seems to be throwing folks, but in my neck of the woods (general NYC area) lots of places serve what's referred to as breakfast sandwiches (egg and cheese on a bagel etc.) or buttered rolls, both of which I've referred to "sandwiches" in the morning, -as in, "I'm heading over to the bodega for coffee, anyone want a muffin or sandwich?" so the first thing I thought of was one of those, not a burger.

Thanks for posting the video of the guy from Precision Chrome. As has been talked about before, he does say the area was patrolled daily. But also, at approx. 2:48, he says they really haven't had any problems with people hanging around back there. He said there were squatters at one time, but nothing like kids, drugs, etc. He also said, “we walk back there sometimes, there are no signs of anything like that”. I am having a hard time reconciling this with the report that this area was discussed at the board meeting as needing extra patrols. I would think FLPD would have talked with business owners back there about the problem and the need for these extra patrols.

Yes,we're blessed with three of them right here in the area.

Fox Lake(technically Ingleside),Grayslake and Richmond Illinois.

There's only 14 Dog N Suds operating in the United States. The prices are often equal to or lower than the the major fast food chains and the quality much better.

The root beer is good there. Not a big fan of the Coney sauce, but your typical family-owned small-town drive-up still with car hop service and decent greasy food. Cruise nights on summer weekends and local bands entertaining. But I digress....
