Was CG in charge of the bookkeeping, financial biz and inventory of the Explorers, as well? JMO

Were only two leaders? I think. If that's the case I would say safe to say he was the one in charge and he either did it himself or oversaw it all.

I still wonder if his wife's comment about the leadership meant anything about her having something they needed. Nothing to base that on, just trying to figure out why she said it.

As leader he was in charge but my understanding is that Mel did the books. I doubt she controlled the inventory though.

I don't understand what MG's position as advisor entailed. They were all volunteers, and so I don't think that she was an employee of the FLPD. JMO

I saw this as well.

I worked in the principal's office of a high school. When the previous principal left, under shady circumstances, our new principal required a new, complete inventory before he would take over the job. It took weeks to complete and different people were brought in to count everything. . An inventory being done, by the same people that might have lost or stolen the property is not all that helpful.

I don't think it's the entire department, necessarily. There might be something hinky somewhere in the chain and they're not sure where. In that case, I think, it would be smart to pull them all out and have a third party come in to investigate.

But that's a lot of money going to a third party.
Considering the very strange move to put a Lake County officer in as the interim Chief rather than move someone from FLPD up seems like some sort of indication that either they don't trust anyone or no one was remotely qualified to do it even for a short term?

She was just an advisor and of course the wife of the leader....
I want to know if she going back in any capacity since they assigned two officers that were not previously even advisors.

Makes sense, but how does either one of those happen?

I would think that she would want to go back, to carry on with Joe's hopes and plans for them. JMO

That's what I think too. It was so important to him and would be hard for her to let go. I think she'd also get a lot of support from everyone involved so I can see why she'd want to find a way to stay with them if she could.

That is an excellent question. I dint know they came to assigning A Lake County unless the board approved. But why Lake County? And how is that working with his obligations to Lake County for which he is paid? Or have they moved his pay over because these are very distinct depts and you can't just go around moving people from town to county and back around.

And what was wrong with Schindler or Norris?

Isn't it standard protocol to do a full inventory when a new Police Chief comes on board?

I would assume so, but is it standard protocol to hire a third party to do it? I would expect the department to take care of it and not for the town to pay 25k every time they get a new Police Chief.

I can see the need for a third party. If there was any question then it needs to go to an outside group. Didn't they get into trouble in 2014? If I was a new police chief taking over, I would want a 3rd party to verify inventory.

Every day that they don't find something is good for who? JMO

I am truly surprised that the community is not outraged about this. As an outsider, it almost appears to me that they do not want to know what happened. Maybe they are all talking privately about this but I know that my little village would be very upset and if this happened where I spent the majority of my life, in Ann Arbor MI, the community would be absolutely outraged. That is a quote by Billie Dunn, about the search for evidence about her missing 13 yr old daughter, Hailey Dunn. The police named her boyfriend as their suspect. I said I was going to keep that quote up until someone was arrested for sweet Hailey's murder.

The truth, whatever it is, is good for me. It may even be painful, but at least it's the truth. We learn from the truth. And that is a good thing. JUST MY OPINION

The reason I put that quote up by Billie, was because many of us thought she wanted nothing to be found because she was covering for her crazy boyfriend. I was not posting that in support of Billie Dunn. Quite the opposite.

Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.
