I don't understand what they are doing that they needed to hire an outside person to investigate inventory. Unless they know that entire dept can't be trusted to give accurate numbers.
Considering the very strange move to put a Lake County officer in as the interim Chief rather than move someone from FLPD up seems like some sort of indication that either they don't trust anyone or no one was remotely qualified to do it even for a short term?
bbmThat is an excellent question. I dint know they came to assigning A Lake County unless the board approved. But why Lake County? And how is that working with his obligations to Lake County for which he is paid? Or have they moved his pay over because these are very distinct depts and you can't just go around moving people from town to county and back around.
And what was wrong with Schindler or Norris?

These are the questions of the day. I don't think we'll get all the answers until all 3 investigations are concluded. Shooting, Chief, and inventory
An interesting way to "show" the news beyond written words and MSM talking heads. Seems nothing official, rather a graphical representation of details known (at least to MSM, however "accurate" they are). At first I kind of scoffed at it, but being a "picture is worth a thousand words" person, I see some value. I wonder what the crowd here will do with this......

Yeah, don't shoot the messenger.Appreciate the video. But it doesn't show how it was meant to be self inflicted nor at the hands of someone else.
Yeah, don't shoot the messenger.![]()
I'm re hashing old discussions about the 2nd shell casing found 100 feet away. I think I read somewhere that this was the piece of evidence with DNA on it that they found the friday afternoon after the shooting. Or at least that's the way I heard it from unconfirmed sources. Here's the red flags for me on this.
It baffles me to think that someone would shoot themselves twice, and walking that distance in between.
Wouldn't there be a visible trail to close to where it was found? Didn't they have to use machetes to find it 3 days later?
Wouldn't a GR dog have tracked a trail from where his body was found?
Wouldn't the shell itself stink of GR, and be found by at least one of the dogs if they were on that trail? Or even somewhat close to it?
So if it really was found 100' away, I myself come to the conclusion that it was thrown from near where LTGs body was found. So who would do that and why?
If LTG shot himself, why bother throwing the shell? If it was thought out and staged, what purpose does it serve? Keeping it near the staged struggle makes a lot more sense.
What makes more sense to me is that someone else was there, and the casing ejected near them or even hit them. Picture 1 or 2 involved in the struggle and 1 at 8 to 10 feet away. They freaked, and in a panic, picked it up and threw it before they ran. Maybe hoping to get into a wetter area or even under water. Basically, just reacting in a panic mode
No harm, no foul, thus the smiley. Sense of humor always present and appreciated by me, veggie references aside.Oh gosh, I hope that didn't come off that way!! I was typing on my phone so it could have sounded short. I wish the commenter would have gone into further detail of their evaluation. A visual does help indeed.![]()

It might serve the purpose of supporting the second part of your comment. It would help make it seem like there was a struggle and someone else was there. So whatever reason there is to find a casing so far away might be the reason it's there, or it might be the reason someone is supposed to think it's there.
It's weird because I find so much of this could go both ways.
I'm not clear as to what you are saying. Are you saying he knew we would think someone else threw it?
No danger of that happening.
My point was, you said it makes it look like he didn't commit suicide. And yet many here think he did.
Isn't it standard protocol to do a full inventory when a new Police Chief comes on board?
I have no experience for knowing what standard Police Protocol is, for inventory or otherwise and would never purport to know. With your knowledge of Police Protocol, what do you believe it is, in terms of reviewing inventory? THANKS JMO
