UPDATE: Missing Quincy woman suffers from depression, may be armed

QUINCY -- The Illinois State Police is asking the public's help to locate a missing Quincy woman.

Mary Lou Anderson, 69, was last seen about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday walking on Rim Road at the intersection of Maas Road, near State Street east of Quincy. She was wearing a white or light gray short-sleeve shirt and dark-colored shorts.

Police say she is possibly armed with a 9MM handgun. She suffers from depression.

Anderson, a white female, has brown hair and blue eyes. She is 5-feet-4-inches tall and weighs 135 pounds.

Anyone with information on Anderson is asked to call the Quincy/Adams County 911 Center's nonemergency number, 217-222-9360, or the ISP Springfield Communications Center nonemergency number, 217-786-6677.

Police believe they have found the remains of a missing Quincy woman last seen walking along the road Tuesday.

Mary Lou Anderson, 69, was last seen walking on Rim Road near State Street east of Quincy on Tuesday. After an extensive search, police found Anderson’s body in rural Adams County east of Interstate 82 in a wooded area, according to WGEM.
