A former truck driver who authorities say is linked by DNA to the slayings of four women at truck stops in Ohio and Illinois is not competent to stand trial in a 1996 killing.

Wood County Common Pleas Judge Matthew Reger ruled Monday that Samuel Legg III is incapable of assisting in his own defense and will continue to be held in a psychiatric facility.

I looked up his case and all the documentation for the case. (Welcome to iJEMS)

Based on the last docket entry April 8, 2021 the judge and court have found that he we not be competent to stand trial and will not be able to stand trial with treatment. Basically he is not going to gain competency. They have a ruling in Ohio for rehabilitation of 1 year to see if he would be able to stand trial.

Since he is unable to stand trial they I suppose had a "mini" trial where the court found that there is evidence that he committed the crime he was charged with and will be held at Twin Valley Mental Health Facility for life (based on the longest conviction he could get)
