Some thoughts to keep Patricia in our thoughts.
It sounds like she was having an affair. Was she married too and that's why they had to go to a motel? Did she live with others and if so, why did it take so long to report her missing? There are fingerprints available. Did she work for a government agency? Was she ex-military? Was she arrested at some time? I'm also very curious about the boyfriend. It seems like he gave a statement to LE but if she wasn't reported as missing until December, that's plenty of time for....

What is most frustrating about these missing persons cases is that there seems to be so little information (especially these older cases) about the missing.
