Teen found dead in alley died from gunshot wound; ID still pending

This article states that she was found by utility workers shot to death and Region News Source posted an article that said that Chicago news sources were incorrectly reporting she was tied to a pole and beaten (but they only have a Facebook and social media isn't allowed here).

Actually, Facebook pages for actual MSM are allowed, would love to see that post if it's from an actual news station.

14-year-old Takaylah Tribitt was last seen on Sept. 1 at around 10 p.m. in the 1100 block of N. Noble St. Tribitt, listed as 5’5” and 120 lbs, is described as an African American girl with brown eyes and black hair worn in a pony tail.

Police said Tribitt was not reported missing by family and the case is still open and under investigation.

Friends of Tribbitt said she wore a similar shirt all the time and said she looks a lot like the images released by Gary police.

A family member of Tribbitt reportedly came forward to submit DNA and dental records to Gary police. They are currently being processing at the Indiana State Crime Lab.

Authorities are hoping for expedited results because of the nature of the case.

Tibbitt's aunt had custody of the girl, but her friends said Tibbitt would often stay with them.
