McIntyre was last seen in Hopkins Park, Illinois on October 4, 2006. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and his family moved him from Chicago to his daughter's home in Hopkins Park on Main Street near Central. He slipped out of her house undetected at around 11:00 a.m. and has never been heard from again. He has a habit of hiding, which is sometimes a trait of those who suffer from Alzheimer's. A massive search was conducted by air and land with the aid of search dogs but turned up no sign of him.
McIntyre had no identification with him at the time of his disappearance. He worked as a bus driver for the Chicago Transit Authority for over thirty years, and had mentioned wanting to travel back to Chicago. Police and family members speculated that he may have gotten a ride there. Few details are available in McIntyre's case and his whereabouts remain unknown.
