I think the reason for Rockford is still a mystery. If she came down to Sterling for Wisconsin Dells the google maps route would have put her right through Rockford in which case she would have doubled back after making the calls. It makes me feel like she went towards Sterling with a purpose, and killing her son doesnt seem like a purpose that would warrant that given, as others have said, there are many remote areas between wisconsin dells and Rockford.

If she were just meandering randomly that might make more sense, but the other patterns seem to support this was thought out.

I agree with you 100%. I think if she was planning on killing herself as well as her son, then why drive all the way back south? Why not just do it in WI? I think that she was planning on meeting someone. I think she wanted to give her son some good last memories before she departed this earth. I think there is a lot more to the relationship that has not yet come out.

This is the thing that gives me greatest hope in this case and makes it feel different than other cases. However if true it raises a couple questions:

1) Why wouldn't whoever has Timmothy step forward with the news coverage ... assuming she didn't tell them please take my son while I go end my life but had a different story.

2) The arrangements she made must have been intended to be permanent - so where does one put a 6 year old permanently that doesn't go through an agency (like adoption)?


Also -

Has anyone read anything anywhere about the next search? When it'll be? Last I heard was just 'after Memorial day'. In searches like this do they invite the public to volunteer or is it LE only?

I've heard so little new news about this case....I am very concerned. I'm very skeptical about this whole case....the whole thing has stunk from the beginning.

I can't fathom who she would've/could've 'permanently' given her son to....or why. Anyone who would have him and has heard the news that she took her own life you would think would start to understand that she was not right.

And why give your child away if you care sooo much about him to spend your final 3 days like she did, but remove him from everything and everyone he knows....what the hell was she removing him from?

There's still more to this story! I will come out, just hope for some break that finds Timmothy well.

Search For Missing Ill. Boy Suspended Until Later This Week

The search for a missing 6-year-old boy last seen in Wisconsin has been suspended until later this week.

Police originally planned to comb an area around Sterling, Ill., Tuesday for Timmothy Pitzen, but authorities delayed the search because they didn't have enough manpower.

Meh, if they'd request help I could get 10 people there with the family and friends I have in the area :/ I guess this answers my question above.

Aurora PD has released photos of the toys that were purchased. About time, I'd say.

This part of the article sounds ominous to me: Police said they they found her car, it was dirty. Upon examination, growth that was similar to tall grass or weeds were discovered underneath. Police said they are taking samples of the dirt and growth and are going to have them analyzed by geologists and other specialists.

OK...I have hope. Not that she was in her right mind on Friday, but to dispose of an I-Pass transponder tells my she was trying to cover her tracks. Just the phone alone could mean that she didn't want to be contacted/talked out of it, but the transponder to me is a good sign....as well as all the toys. I hope this new information helps.

As Martha said, the weeds could be a bad thing, but if she was meeting someone in broad daylight, I can see wanting to go 'off road'....hoping this new info helps.

If she's covering her tracks by disposing of the iPass, than that may be a strong indication that she used the Interstates. From the Dells at 10:10, to the Sterling area around 12-1 PM, is pretty much a straight shot, then she has a lot of time until Winnebago Dollar store at 7:30....my thought is that regardless of interstate down 90 to 39 or back roads from Dells to Sterling, she was most likely going in a South or West direction when when she made that infamous call from 5 miles N of Sterling. If heading South, she'd have enough time to drive as far as Springfield, IL and double back to Winnebago, but if she went south, why stop off in Sterling plus the would have gone out of her way to winnebago then back to the motel?

But consider going West to Iowa, she could have gone as far as Iowa City, Cedar Rapids or Waterloo (very close to Ames-hometown) and made a viable trip back across Rt 20 to a logical progression of Winnebago and lastly, Rockford. There are more direct routes from Dells to Waterloo area, go maybe her destination was more related to a route from Sterling through Quad Cities and Southwest into Iowa.

She seemed to be going that direction and she seems to be coming from that direction based on the order of stops at Winnebago/Rockford.

I think you're right on key, pjessie. And I wish I had any clue how to answer your questions.

Another thing which the ipass make me consider is that again this was thought out and pre-meditated. That makes her route seem less like a meandering route and more like there was a purpose, which, again, leads me to believe he's alive.

A few people had mentioned in past about the Fry side of the family being very quiet. In this article they quote Amy's mother :

Fry-Pitzen's mother, Alana Anderson, said Wednesday she remained confident her daughter left Timmothy in good care, though she said it was "scary" that police had no solid leads.

"I think she planned fairly well to hand him off," Anderson said. "I can't imagine what kind of anger she could have to take him away from his dad. I don't know what snapped where she thought she had to do this."

After three weeks of searching for her grandson, Anderson said she was concerned that his case might fall out of the public eye.

"I just don't want him to be forgotten," she said.

Even though they do not have the actual I-Pass device from her vehicle, law enforcement should be able to work with the the I-Pass system administrators to obtain the dates, times and toll locations she passed through. On a business account an itemized statement is sent out monthly with all of this information. Hopefully it is available to LE on a personal I-Pass account also.

This case is so incredibly sad. I hope she didn't hurt that sweet boy. The only thing that gives me hope is that she bought him clothes before she committed suicide.
