Results show the man was possibly of Hispanic or Native American descent, between the ages of 45 and 65, with "very distinctive dental pattern." The remains showed he had missing teeth in the front

Looking at the way those shoes are worn and jammed out of shape, and found without laces, makes me think he was jamming larger feet into them.

My dad's shoes wear in the same way due to very wide feet.

Any ideas? At the time I was working as a park ranger not far from Herrick Lake, and in fact spent a lot of time hiking there, playing Frisbee, fishing, etc. Never saw anything unusual other than a really friendly wild turkey!

Case #13-21 - LA Repository for Unidentified & Missing People

For what it’s worth, researching this unidentified gentleman’s shoes as I had not heard of the brand “Prince Virtue” before so was curious about them.

These type of shoes were sold at stores specializing in athletic wear and tennis equipment like Tennis Warehouse and possibly Hibbett Sports during 2007-2010. They could have been purchased online as well.

Tennis Warehouse locations during the PMI timeframe were:
San Luis Obispo, CA
Alpharetta, GA
Mountain View, CA
Schutterwald, Germany

In 2009, Tennis Warehouse expanded internationally into the European market.

Hibbett Sports was more accessible with locations in strip malls, primarily conveniently located near Wal-Mart.

This doesn’t help in determining where he maybe from but at least it’s a bump since 2022. No new exclusions.

This partial skeleton was found in Herrick Lake Forest preserve. Cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, as the case is still open. The skeleton was found in proximity to clothing and shoes. Race/ethnicity believed to White and/or Hispanic. Native American ancestry is also possible.

The two front upper incisors were lost before death. Multiple bony extoses (bulges) were present on the posterior maxilla. These are benign and in life would have made the gum tissue look "lumpy."

Photos of clothing and also his dentals are in NamUs and quite unique with much crowding of all teeth with the two top front teeth missing.
