The decedent was originally transported to St James Hospital and then airlifted by helicopter to Olympia Fields Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Did the other person crossing the street with him know him? It's like pulling teeth with some of these case descriptions.

I agree, or Pacific Islander.
Or Asian. His height is five one, which is very short for a lot of white people, but more common in some Asian countries.

But nobody knows him? A racetrack is a busy place. It's not a solo occupation. Where are his co-workers? They surely would have at least known a first or a nickname, would have known if he spoke with an accent or spoke mostly Spanish or some other language than English.

My guess is he may have been using a stolen identity-just a guess though!

How do they know he worked at a racetrack? They wouldn't say that if there was no evidence suggesting it. There is obviously more evidence to go off that they found on his persons.
