Jmo--first degree murder charges tell me that LE knows the stick story is BS

I think more arrests are possible, at least for tampering or obstruction. I don't believe that only the brother was aware of Willow's death while all of that searching was happening. How cowardly to watch hundreds of people search in that horrible heat and say nothing. I think at least four searchers were hospitalized, if I remember correctly. But then it is pretty cowardly to kill a little girl to. Or to cover for another adult. If that happened. JMO

My guess is he pulled it out resulting in her death. Seriously, this happens all the time, people pulling out objects that are impaled. It can have horrible consequences. After it had that consequence he panicked and it got out of control from there.

Also if what a poster said was true, there was a party there that night. Calling 911 may not have been something he would want to do if there were other activities going on. Series of bad choices.

Maybe graphic warning

Agree. Google impalement wounds and one will see how little blood there is...*unless* someone unknowingly plays "hero" and removes the "stake"...it's nasty and bloody and awful ....but it happens.

Even paramedics transport impalement victims to hospital WITH "object" in place so professional surgeons can help...not to mention hundreds of cases where victims who walk into an ER with something stuck through them...

:yikes: how horrible ....but real.

My heart is so heavy tonight. Welcome to new members and guests. RIP Willow, another beautiful friend for you Somer.. may you all dance and shine together.

I did read a number of the articles in which grandpa made that claim. If grandpa was not a witness to what happened in that house then he's getting his info 2nd hand and I question whether what he's been told is true or is a coverup type of story. Until I read or see something official from LE I'm going to remain skeptical. I'm not into speculating and like to wait for known/verified facts.

My point was that LE could charge murder one even based on the son/grandpa's apparent version of the story. No speculation required.

Sigh..

RIP little sweet red haired Willow.

Can't wait for the truth to be on the table and justice to be as harsh as possible.

Poor little 3 year old baby as well.. :-(

Was JD parroting the post of that person or repeating back what he/she had posted word-for-word? I'm asking because parroting is something that schizophrenics do.

https://twitter.com/JustinDeRyke

He only has one tweet though.

ETA: Just noticed it says he's from Indianapolis. Eeek, I've lived right outside of Indianapolis my whole life. Have we heard anything about him being from Indy? If we have, I must have missed it somewhere. TIA!

Karma I agree. Even if she was impaled and it was an accident as long as she wasn't dead yet if he did something to her intentionally in order to "put her out of her misery" then that would be Murder One.

I think this is all one massive accident scenario like I've already stated several times (I know) but I do. I think it happened just like the grandfather is saying...and I think it's a situation where everyone in the family was trying to cover the other (IE the story from her mother about the following morning never happened). It's a one story home, you can't go down to check on kids if there are no stairs, etc. and Willow wouldn't have been watching a movie at 8:45am if it happened the night before (Grandpa stated it happened Saturday night).

Dale DeRyke got the call Sunday while driving to Lemoyne, PA with a load. It takes approximately 11.5 to 12 hours drive from the city center of Watson,IL to the city center of Lemoyne, PA and he had not yet arrived. If he got the call on Sunday I'd like to know what time on Sunday, because he didn't return to Watson, IL until Monday evening around 6:30pm. If he was driving to Lemoyne, PA on Sunday (and had not yet arrived there when he got the call), and the incident happened Saturday night as he says it did...quite possible he was home at the time and left afterward to help corroborate the story (because he was allegedly not home at the time).

By the time all of this is over...there might be more folks in some deep doodoo for telling tall tales.

All of the above is speculation

Drugs don't make you a bad person, being a bad person makes you a bad person. Sometimes people use their addictions as an excuse - the second that becomes less believable is when people stop allowing that to be used and justified.

very respectfully snipped...

and respectfully MOO is that drugs can make you a person you are not when sober..100%

drugs can make you do things/think things you may not otherwise think....to exclude it completely from the cause of an altered behavior/mind state is IMO reckless.

ETA: i do not believe this should make them not accountable by any means, just that it indeed alters ones state of mind and right from wrong in some instances.

Even if I were higher than a kite, I would call 911 if my child had been impaled by an object. I would rather save her and risk jail time than put her out of her misery.

Either way, there's some strange things surrounding this case and I hope that mother is not covering for something...

I've spoken to a friend of the mother and uncle. They said that Sat night the mom and uncle threw a party that didn't end until between 4 and 5 Sunday morning. Willow's dad is frustrated because LE isn't talking to them. I suspect there is a reason. I would really not be surprised to see obstruction charges come out of this for the mom...at the very least.

If mom and uncle were 'hosting' a party until mid-morning hours, were guests present when the 'impaling' occurred? If the injury occurred Saturday evening, was mom awake and present? A crime novelist could dream up these twists and turns. Poor little Willow.

Quoting LucyO:

"We need to see what the COD (cause of death) was and go from there. But, given everything I see on social media about this guy, unless he snapped, there is nothing to indicate or foreshadow this situation would occur or he was capable of this. "

I'm still looking at all his SM...he's got quite a bit. The emotional scars comment is interesting. (Btw, that comment is interesting for more reasons than one! I believe it was either Clueless or Toothless (:floorlaugh:, clueless or toothless, haha) who mentioned their own "emotional scars"...then he used the exact same words...that was creepy).

I remember looking at that dirtbag Jesse Speer's facebook, and how we were all blown away with his incredible talent as a nature photographer...National Geographic and all.

JD posted that in 2010 or 2011 from my recollection on a profile on a social site. ToothlessFairy or Clueless posted that awhile back. Not sure what thread. JD posted it years ago. But a WSer posted it recently almost verbatim.

Has anyone found quotes from mom about the argument, or giving them breakfast? Thanks.

Hi cluciano this is all I have seen:

UPDATE: Authorities Searching for Missing Watson Girl

A 7-year old girl is missing from Watson, and authorities are asking for help in locating her.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Department say they're searching for 7-year old Willow Long of Watson. Police tell us the girl walked away from her home on Circle Drive in Watson Sunday morning after an argument with her mother, and has not been seen since

snipped for space tooth, but I hope you have read my response (and others) to your post earlier today about how do we come back here :seeya:

There is one thing that is absolutely, without a doubt, 100% certain...IF this family really love Willow like they are claiming, every single one of them will come forward and be 100% honest and speak nothing but the truth from this point forward. I can see how in the heat of the moment the fear and freak-out session can lead (some) people to say some pretty stupid things and cover for others, etc. However, it's now Tuesday night and Willow's little body has been found long ago. The initial mess is over with.

If they love her...they need to come clean about everything they know NOW (accident or otherwise) so there can be some sort of closure and justice for this sweet little girl.

Maybe for herself, maybe she wasn't there at all till the time she called 911 and did not want that known??? So she just repeated what he told her??

I know, but regardless, either scenario would be lying when your baby is dead/ missing. Nope. Uh uh. :stormingmad:

I'll stop now. I have a feeling tomorrow will open up much more info. The Iceman cometh........:twocents:
