If the uncle is lying about Willow being impaled by the stick, well, why did he choose that specific story? Does she have similar injuries, that he caused himself? :( I'm thinking of how parents who beat their children will claim they fell down the stairs.

I caught that too!

You guys are really sharp, seriously. So much is flying by my head. It is truly an honor to be here with such caring, intelligent people!

Didn't LE say "no comment" when asked if more arrests were expected?

Hoping there won't be a trial, that there is a confession and a prison sentence that is appropriate. JMO this guy already cost the taxpayers enough with the extensive, expensive searching when he could have just told the truth.

Someone stated they need to reel in the Grandpa... I think he needs to be loved, supported and sadly he needs medical/mental help right now... I look at him and listen to him and he is obviously not okay .... Oh I hope someone helps him soon... he could end up having a heart attack... I see a family being torn apart and destroyed and this just saddens me on so many levels... his pain is palpable ... I really hope someone steps in and literally sedates him for his own good. IMHO

I think it was more along the lines of having a spokesperson for the family. Grandpa looks shocked, sleep deprived, and traumatized in the videos. Some of what he has said could cause a lot of damage. He might not be thinking to clearly considering the extreme trauma they all have gone through. As we know, the media and public can be really unfriendly and not give people the benefit of the doubt when they speak. Poor grandpa.

Don't the reports state that she was found near a river, a river that some have said could be accessed by walking down the train tracks (quite a ways)?

So, the dog picked up a scent near the train tracks (IIRC) and the LE said they searched bodies of water first because of the whole Princess and the Frog adventure aspect....just wondering why her little body wasn't found earlier? I'm in NO WAY blaming LE and volunteers--they worked so, so hard and quickly. I'm just wondering if she was transported there AFTER they searched the bodies of water?

He's not Ronald McDonald, right? Just had to throw that in there....so many theories were abound at the beginning....folks need to be careful until they see facts.

FWIW, I have been accidentally, rather seriously stabbed / injured by sticks. Seriously, I am not being sarcastic.

Me, too. Sticks can cause horrific and fatal injuries.

I was surprised that he threw the rest of his kids under the bus by suggesting that the arrested son was the only "good" kid he had. Both of the interviews were just very strange IMO. Maybe he originally thought the foul play was in regards to Willow's mom and/or her friends?

MOO

That whole thing re: his statements about the other kids seemed strange to me as well. If J is the good one, well, crap, how bad are the other ones? He was referring to smoking and drinking, but still, that whole thing was quite odd.

I am thinking the mom's story may be correct - as well as the uncle stating she was injured Sat. night.

Time will tell ...

Actually, the 'put her out of her misery part' is likely what a lot of child rapists rationalize when they decide to kill their victim. More like 'she needs to die or she'll tell.' JMO

Thank you (and everyone else) for the information. I have edited the post to take out the quotes. Sorry about that. I put them there to show that the father himself had said that was the correct place so that no one thought I created a fake church to steal peoples' money or anything nuts like that. I believe the post is acceptable now.

You're welcome. But I think it may be more than just the quotes. I think this site prohibits any information about donations to any cause without the mods permission. Seriously not trying to sound preachy here. Please don't take it that way. Lord knows, I'm in trouble practically on a daily basis lol. I just know you're trying to help and want to do that the "right" way. I would definitely pm a mod :)

I haven't read all the stories nor have I watched all of the interviews. But it sounds like all of the stuff from grandpa has not been reported by police. We have no idea where he's getting this stuff. If he's going by what police told Ciara during questioning, then he may want to zip it for now. Police may have told her all sorts of stuff, including things that weren't true.

And men who cheat, slipped and accidentally fell on that woman...

Bah! Removing it! Thank you, so much. I'll read the TOS a little better when I'm thinking more clearly. It's been a long couple days, I suppose. (And it's not preachy. It's helpful. So thanks AGAIN!)

Really?! I never heard that before. That's so disgusting.

Exactly!!

After watching the video, grandpa was pointing to his neck as if the stick entered at that part of willows body. Only way I've ever heard of dire injuries to the neck is due to blood loss. Still sounds noisy. Any neighbors around?

******Graphic********

It would not be noisy through the neck as blood would pour into the throat and disable the "voice box" from working. It would be like talking while holding fluid in your esophagus/mouth. There are many ways this accident would be "soundless". I posted a while back on this mechanism of injury as well. It could cause rapid anoxia and brain death.

Also...in terms of putting her out of her misery, in reality if she fell on a stick and was impaled on it, simply pulling the stick out could be fatal. Misery could be defined as the terror/pain/trauma of being impaled on a stick. And removing it proved fatal. This scenario actually happens a lot. That is why they say leave the object in place even if the person is trying to pull it out or what not. IDK.

****End Graphic Content****

http://shelbycountynews.net/search-...ay-evening-after-temporary-delay-p24744-1.htm

Quotes directly from Willow's mother Ciera DeRyke and a lot more of her explanation in her own quotes of what happened on Sunday morning in the article. I didn't want to link too much of it here. ULBM

DeRyke noted that Willow apparently left the house under undetermined circumstances between “10:05 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.” Sunday morning.

“I woke up at 10:15 a.m. and then we went outside and through the house and around the block a few times so it was 10:30 a.m. when we called 9-1-1.”

"...my mother called the mayor’s wife. Her husband got people together immediately and started calling and going door to door. I had several of the neighbors here and I had pictures of Willow.”

“I don’t even know how to begin to say thank you to everyone. I’ve been kind of trying to figure out how to thank everybody. I expected there would be a lot of people out looking for her and helping, but there are so many people from so far away helping that aren’t even connected to the community,” said DeRyke with a trembling voice.

You and me are on the same line of thinking.

Most likely the mom was out partying (normal for her age) and he didn't have time to realize that by defending his son for being on the straight and narrow, he was throwing the other kids under the bus in a way. He really needs a spokesperson. Anyway, what do we all think now about mom not making any media appearances during the search...including how the Saturday/Sunday timeline is now conflicted?

I keep thinking of how Tori Stafford died. The perps both had their own version of why she had to die. Extremely disgusting.

You're welcome again :) And just so you know, not every little thing is spelled out in the TOS (ask me how I know lol). So I'm not sure you'll find the specific donation issue addressed there. It may be, I honestly don't know. If not, I'd still pm a mod.
