I agree. As soon as the (potential) party was mentioned, I wondered why has no one come forward to say "Oh I was at their house the night before..." so on and so forth.

This is becoming really shady to me...in many different ways. :moo:

Unless more people know something. Maybe there was a perp at the party and uncle JD did not do anything to stop it, resulting in a murder charge. The other perp may be unknown at this point. But, not doing something if a felony is being committed by another can result in that, too. I don't know, but, if there was a party many people should have verified she was alive at a certain time, unless they are all scared.

If the uncle is lying about Willow being impaled by the stick, well, why did he choose that specific story? Does she have similar injuries, that he caused himself? :( I'm thinking of how parents who beat their children will claim they fell down the stairs.

Or the stepmonster who raped and murdered her own two-year-old stepdaughter and claimed she fell and ruptured her vagina in the tub,and then hit her head a half dozen times on the way down. (I am so sorry I have forgotten this baby's name :()

Sure. :stormingmad:

Not a pleasant thought but when the autopsy releases the COD would they even mention if there was a puncture wound(stick story) if it didn't have to do with the COD?

they will be able to tell if the stick injury was postmortem.

I just want him to have a place to vent/get his questions answered/make friends .... He has lost his Willow and I think needs some (emotional) support

JMO but this isnt that place for a parent who lost a child like (supposedly) he has....IMO that is in private with a professional

If there was indeed a party on Saturday night, surely one of those 600+ people who came out to search for Willow would have been present at said party. Remember, according to Wikipedia, this town has 729 residents.

Someone needs to talk.

Exactly....I live in a town of 1003 residents (supposedly according to stats)...if I don't buy gas or show up at a certain place or time-everyone is talking about it. It's kinda cool-but also kinda creepy.

Well, in the interview, the grandfather basically says that Ciara smokes pot. So, now I am on board with drug speculations. Watch the video.

http://fox2now.com/2013/09/10/suspect-being-held-for-suspicion-of-murder/

Even if they do smoke weed, which I wouldn't doubt considering how common it is, that does NOT make you do things like kill people. I think whether or not they are pot smokers is a mute point. If it was any sort of drug that took part in this, it would be something much harder than just weed. JMO though.

No offense to the original poster, but we really have no verified information that there was a party at all.

The scenerio makes as much sense as any of the others, tho.

I'd like to know what time grandpa left for his driving job on Sat, and does anyone else in that household have a vehicle?

I just hope they have JD on suicide watch. If there is any truth in the accident thing, it would be a shame for him to end his own life over the remorse he feels. Especially without having his chance in court.

I've spoken to a friend of the mother and uncle. They said that Sat night the mom and uncle threw a party that didn't end until between 4 and 5 Sunday morning. Willow's dad is frustrated because LE isn't talking to them. I suspect there is a reason. I would really not be surprised to see obstruction charges come out of this for the mom...at the very least.

:welcome: SmallTownGirl! :wagon:

It is so enlightening to get information from locals such as yourself!

Thank you!

Have you considered becoming a Verified Insider?

that would be helpful to us WSers...

But this is only a suggestion...

a mod may be able to point you in the right direction if you decide to become a Verified Insider!

SmallTownGirl1970, here's the link on the steps to become a verified insider if you choose to do so (or else your posts might be deleted):

She could have had her glasses on when it happened. If she was impaled, they would have fallen off as she thrashed. Or when JD went to dump her body, they could have fallen off. Maybe they got picked up on his return and stashed in the house. She wouldn't need her glasses if she left the property not alive. IMOO.

This is such an especially painful and heartwrenching aspect for me, this whole glasses thing. It reminds me, of course, again of Jessica Ridgeway, and when they found her backpack. We didn't find out until way way later, after Sigg was arrested, that her clothes and glasses were in that backpack. :( Hence, the massive manhunt and response by LE, much like Willow's search. Which is why I think LE had a similar piece of evidence early on in the investigation that we are not privy to. JMO.

I'm wondering if this will be the same case here, that so many answers to many of the questions we have will remain undisclosed.

So much info going around right now. Tomorrow we should have an idea of the COD by way of what the suspect is charged with which should tell us a lot. I'm going to try to refrain from any more speculation until I get some idea of how sweet Willow died. I've had my theories since this story broke and I hope I'm not right.

I'd like to know what time grandpa left for his driving job on Sat, and does anyone else in that household have a vehicle?

It's 11.5-12 hour drive from Watson to Lemoyne and all reports say he wasn't even there as yet.

http://effinghamdailynews.com/local/x1253341780/Grandfather-fears-granddaughter-abducted

if it was "while hauling" then clearly he had not yet arrived.

I DO vaguely remember reading (somewhere) that they left on Saturday to Lemoyne...but that makes no sense if they hadn't gotten there STILL by the following day. Well...unless they left late at night Saturday IE: after an accident that ended in death in order to corroborate a storyline (cough).

If mom put the missing child call in at 10:49am (the time Sheriff Monnet indicates in his interview)Effingham County Sheriff John Monnet talks about missing 7-year old Watson Girl - YouTube "10:49 this morning"

...even if Ciara called dada around 11am (RIGHT after the 911 call)... 11am he was still hauling a load to a place that is 11.5 hours away? Midnight/11pm Saturday night is when they would have had to leave to get to Lemoyne...but he wasn't there yet when he was called because it says he got the call "while he was hauling".

To answer your question though...it hasn't been said what time they left.

Pot smoking can make one fall asleep and not know what is happening with their children, though. As can any type of "partying" gah I hate that verb.

Maybe some locals did go to LE with stories about alleged party and just not to the media.

That would explain some comments about staying up all night and not looking good.

I think there is a perfect storm here.......

Let me preface this by saying that I am sheltered. What I know about drugs, I learned through research related to cases on here-- especially bath salts, which I thought were like epsom salt for at least 6 months! :blushing:

Lots of posters were discussing hard(er) drugs that might cause someone to lose their grip on reality. I just didn't want to drive down the "drugs made me do it" avenue if I didn't have to.

And, I honestly don't think that drugs had anything to do with this case. But, since I took such a hard line about the topic earlier, I wanted to acknowledge that I was wrong as CD's dad said all of his children smoked, drank, and smoked pot--except for Justin.

And since Justin is our focus, I don't think that drugs played a role.

Now... Is it possible that mom was high on pot and imagined she walked downstairs in a house that has only one floor? Who knows.
Did she eat the pop tarts and cereal herself instead of serving to her daughter who was not even there? I don't know.

And, I have my serious doubts that a 3 year boy who lacks a lot of verbal skills is interested in watching The Princess and the Frog on video. If it's on tv, maybe. But, actually going through the time and effort to "put in a movie"? Probably not. When my boys were in that stage, they were more interested in Thomas the Tank Engine and Cars the Movie.
