the bus driver maybe didn't see her or was late on his/her run or even if s/he should've stopped, it is not their fault that a murderer came along ... that's a very slippery slope

The FBI affadvit stated that YZ was on the wrong side of the street for that bus.

You don't think that that man looks older and heavier set? I find men with facial hair with the same colouring all look a bit similar to me.
Perhaps, but I think looks old for his age with the beard, and he might've gained weight.

He told police he had picked up Yingying and then dropped her off, so his attending the rally isn't so odd, really.

So, do you think that he is innocent?

. Adding to which, he would be more likely to be there than any random look-alike guy on campus. I think it's him.

Not sure this is statistically true, but I think a decent chance nonetheless and something about the body posture also seems similar to BC in known photos.

Maybe i missed it, but does LE have any idea where YZ is now? Surely a student/teacher is accustomed to questions asked and answered.

I don't think any info has been released about that.

That I find puzzling. Unless LE are already pretty sure about a different area and are still working on him to narrow it down?

Yes, I feel like they have a very good idea where she is (and where she isn't, i.e., the lake) from some sort of solid evidence placing BCs location/travels at least roughly that night. Otherwise I do think they would be searching the lake and other areas.

No, but he was pretending to be innocent to the police and he may have gone to the rally because an innocent person who had innocently given her a ride and then dropped her off, just before she vanished off the face of the earth, would be likely to go to the rally.

I'm going to try this...just an experiment, (hours of effort) enlarge hold down CTRL and tap on the + sign to enlarge.

Some people have slightly asymmetrical hairlines. In this photo the Caucasian male, in the black shirt and standing next to the female (in the red sweater) has an interesting hair line. He is looking down and you can see the widow's peak of his hairline veers to the right. His hairline recedes so deeply, it almost makes an exaggerated "M" on the top front of his head. He is the male, not wearing glasses.

I hate to play "Where's Waldo" with hairlines, but it worked. It is the best I can do.

Where is Yingying?

This! I'm not implying anything negative or that the FBI and coppers didn't hustle and grind to help yingying but how did it take that long to locate the car? Assuming it was just sitting in an apartment lot and was the daily driver of a well known familiar face at this giant school. Maybe all the neighbors did call but I was in Canada while the car was missing and I caught myself looking at every black hatchback just in case... if I noticed a possibly wanted car in my lot it would be super intimidating. Nobody noticed and called? The sheer brazenness and poor planing on his part is unbelievable. Worst murderer ever. Really guy? SMH 🤦*♂️. The world lost a young women who was literally trying to better the world. So sad for her.
Just imagine living with someone who owned an Astra in Urbana in those few weeks, someone who had a connection to the campus - a white guy. And how much you would wonder are they 'the one'?

I believe YZ may have been injured in the passenger seat, possibly knocked unconscious. Shortly after leaving the curb he rolled down the driver side window (possibly hot from the adrenaline rush.) You can see him slumped down behind the steering wheel; his eyes are concealed by shades. It could be YZ never regained consciousness or died from her injuries. JMO.

I was looking at your attachment and behind the passenger seat looks like a woman face and longer hair than YZ. I can see a outline of a person in the front passenger seat but curious if anyone else sees a person in the back

The Saturn Astra has child locks on the rear doors only. The owners manual is available online. Screenshot_20170701-234721.jpg

I don't see it. :-/ I see headrests and reflections.

that image in the tweet is too far away to know if it's him or not
LadyL, do you know how to move your cursor over the image and enlarge it by "holding down the CTRL key and pressing the + sign"?
It is the same hairline.

Maybe I can do a close up of the picture....only to notice the hairline.
I am using this "arbitrary pic" because my Mr.IQ hasn't had a hairline in 10 years.

Does anyone know if BC owns a dog or cat? I am thinking about "hair transfers"
that would not be present unless YZ was in the car or apartment. I know that isn't the best option, because he has already admitted she was in his car.
Would it be unusual for a perp to attend a memorial for a missing person?.....Unfortunately not I/we WS'ers have seen it more than once.
