Does this dog have a black vest? If so it's likely cadaver. (JMO) I'm no expert either but I have watched a few specials on TV about the dogs being trained differently. Drug sniffing, cadaver, and search and rescue. The search and rescue ones had orange vests usually.

Aren't these dogs simply amazing?!

To my eyes, that dog doesn't have on a vest. The black is just his/her markings, imo. Very beautiful shepherd, and yes, they are amazing. Will Rogers said it best, "If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die, I want to go where they went". Just a shame some well-trained police k9 didn't have a few minutes alone with BC. Bet I can guess which one would have been the dom and which one would have been submissive in that scenario.

Ah thank you! Well I agree with you on the Rogers quote. ;)

Looks like no vest, but clearly a German Shepherd and they apparently ARE commonly used as cadaver dogs, but can also be used for tracking, and of course as attack dogs.

Does anyone besides me find it at least a little odd that practically no one familiar with BC has come forth, to my knowledge, and claimed to be shocked friends, telling how he couldn't have done this. I do know a couple of professors have apparently made brief statements, but I would assume they only knew him from the classroom, and may have a vested interest in making a statement. This was a 28 year old married man, living in a town full of young people and academics. Did he have no real friends? Were all of his "friends" like-minded people he found in the dark recesses of his online life? Did he only go to the gym, to work, and back home, and make no real friends at any of those places? No social life or interaction with others?? If so, where are they? And if not, why?

I know what you mean. My take: sociopaths aren't able to form true bonds with friends, I don't get the sense that they were the couple who had dinner parties or went bowling on Thursday nights, so we aren't seeing even that level of acquaintance, and even with his legal proclivities people might not want to be associated with him. I'm slightly surprised that no high school friends have emerged, but he probably never kept up any contact. I suspect that his quitting the PhD program marked a real end to any semblance of normal life or socialization. I am sure we will learn much more when the people we don't discuss talk.

After following this for weeks and much poking around online and also studying the surveillance footage, my over active imagination has come up with- IMO, BC had been planning this for quite some time. He even purposefully abducted her in broad daylight on a busy street in the middle of the afternoon. He possibly even knew there may be cameras near, but with his ego leading him he figured they were of poor quality and he couldn't be seen clearly. So, he's out hunting for the perfect victim and he sees one. In his sick & twisted mind, he sees an Asian girl, looks innocent, reminds him of the girls he sees in some of the video games he plays, maybe he even watches Hentai 🤬🤬🤬🤬 since he likes Anima (not that all people who watch Anime watch hentai 🤬🤬🤬🤬). He only sees an Asian female, an object. He lures her into the car, she shuts the door and fairly quickly he incapacitates her or, there is someone sitting behind her that YY turns to look at around the side of the seat and that’s when he incapacitates her. (If you load the still pics of the surveillance footage up to your smart phone there is much more visible, but also plays tricks with the eyes possibly too as I swear I can see someone sitting straight up, almost an exaggerated straight up posture right behind the passenger seat. You can also see in one frame what looks like YY with her head slightly down and slightly turned towards the backseat.) So, he has to take off quickly because there’s a car coming in the same lane and he doesn’t want to take the chance of anyone noticing the person who just got in his car is now laying down or slumped over, which in another frame of the surveillance footage you can almost clearly see her shirt in a horizontal position in the front passenger seat, just can’t see where her head is. Then the next frame you can see him looking over and down at her as he drives off quickly with only his left hand on the steering wheel. His right hand probably incapacitated her or his backseat passenger did. He drives to a place that he had already set up for his playing out is fantasy, an abandoned building, a storage unit, an old abandoned farm house. I think he did it inside because he doesn’t want to be interrupted in his playing this out. I think he planned on killing his victim beforehand and already had the place set up for that too, whichever sick but thorough way he came up with to dispose of a body.

I'm not convinced his fet obsession was any more that recreational fantasy-land for him.. No priors.
She did not escape, we know that.
We do not know whether he was acting impulsively, no pre-planning, or whether he meticulously planned it (Does trolling for hours the equivalent fo preplanned?). Creature of habit.
If the former she is probably dead.
If there was a level of pre-planning, ?? Maybe handcuffs in the car? Handcuffs can instantly limit a perosn's options...that is why LE uses them. Hmmm, stun gun, then handcuffs....it would probably have been meticulous.
I like gun theory
I like sudden rendering unconsciousness theory.. I still dont like brought her home theory though removal of furniture would suggest he did.
I like having a secret place theory for his fantasy world, a place to bring a victim..(There's no place like home. Or his "subservient's" home/apt)
This dude is a stone.. like a robot.. lotta bits and pieces rolling around together in his head, incongruent with a spontaneous life force operating freely and in sway..
His body is like his automobile, a machine which he maintains according to set protocols.
But ot the brightest spark in the sky either.
He didn't chuck his phone.
He didn't check for cameras.
He allegedly discussed it.
I'm inclined to dismiss hisfetweb stuff as harmless, maybe totally unrelated to this kidnapping.
'staring at mirror while working out, expressionless..'
autopilot.
Is there anything at all else we know.. he maintained his job satisfactorily, by rote? Possibly not difficult.. he would merely have had to mimic his own teachers.
Physics.. again left brain.. mathematical.. engine..
fetweb- right brain.. creative.. but possibly also automated, mimic..
Any spiritual practice? (Raised Catholic, claims to be AGNOSTIC, from what I read.)
Sorry, thinking out loud..
any diaries, manifestos, right wing extremist leanings? (He has extreme politicall views...many that contradict each other.)
Was he left handed or right handed? (Oh my...are their criminal stats based on left-hand/right-hand dominance?? Yikes!!)
Any political affiliations? Any racism? Any prefs for snuff movies. Any U-tube a/c?
(I can't be sure it is him...but 99.5% sure it is. Had some pretty radical and hostile views. Mentions "pure bloodlines" and conspiracy theories etc. I was actually surprised an academic at his level would have such hateful & conspiratorial views. It was a "WOW, CAN THIS BE? moment for
me. The impeccable academic resume juxtaposed to a conspiracy laden hate of all who were not his gender or appearance. I remember thinking....this guy must have a Grand Canyon trench running through the middle of his brain. Then again, I have some clients that surprise me with their radical views and they don't commit crimes.)

KITTYTHEHARE. Hope you do not have an issue with me inserting my answers, but I thought it would be easier since you listed so many great points. TIA IQ

What source gave you these impressions? Hopefully not that Reddit user...that's definitely NOT BC.

"Impeccable academic credentials?" At the elite university I worked for for 17 years he would be considered just another failed graduate student, who probably had issues, and wasted faculty time. (And yes I know he wasn't booted, but quit.) It may have been that his quitting reflected an awareness that he could never conform to a conventional life and career.

I wonder why he fears garbage disposals? ?

We discussed this a bit toward the end of....I think thread 3 if you care to review. Nothing was really revealed except that a handful of us are also fearful of garbage disposals and that I am also apprehensive about windmills. I dislike having stuff in common with BC, blech...

This from a reddit source
he's the kid with the long hair
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MLT5xZYVkM&feature=youtu.be
cached copy of his i-Cupid profile which is now apparently removed http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://www.okcupid.com/profile/WorldsApart689
(I would not have thought of searching Reddit until was mentioned. still trawling)

Women 18-99 yo. That's a wide spectrum. His possible victims could be everywhere as nowhere.

I can't seem to find the photos but a video would be more helpful. Can someone paste the link? I am familiar with search and rescue hounds as one of my friends has a few and is a scent fracker/ volunteer search and rescue resource. They have some very particular ways of handling them and the scent they are tracking. All of her dogs also have the same distinctive "shake" after they smell the scent they are chasing when they are in working mode.
