Wonder who the last person was to see baby Zaraz? Perhaps the dad of older two (or grandma) during custody exchange/drop off or pickup for his turn with them? Though I would think that would have been narrowed down to an exact date vs 5-7 days ago. Or maybe one of the siblings saying something is what tipped everyone else off to this baby being unaccounted for?

I'm guessing mom either doesn't work at all or works from home? I'd think a caregiver/babysitter or Daycare facility would also know the exact date. It's kind of odd it's a span of 5, 6, or 7 days ago.

This case kind of reminds me of the baby Amiah Robertson case. Police are called for unrelated incident involving a parent and then like a small insignificant detail it's mentioned or found out that oh yeah, by the way, my baby is also missing

BPD update post this evening. It seems my heart sinks more with each update. I just hope and pray that baby Zaraz is being cared for and cherished as she and every baby deserves.

BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington woman may soon face a new charge of concealing a death as an infant is still missing.
[snip]
Bloomington Police Chief Jamal Simington said, “Although an arrest has been made in this investigation, our work is not complete. We will continue to investigate all leads in order to locate missing Zaraz and we need your help. We also ask the public to understand our reluctance to share information about the case, as it may interfere with our investigation. When the time is appropriate or it helps us locate Zaraz, we will share more information. ”

On Wednesday afternoon, Feb, 23 the Bloomington Police Department arrested Kimberlee Burton for the offense of concealment of a death.
[snip]
A formal criminal charge is pending review by the McLean County States Attorney’s office. Bond court is expected on Friday, Feb. 25. At this time, no additional information will be released as it is an active investigation.

presumed dead. Make it stop. I can't even conceive. So many of them. Tossing their children out like garbage. disappearing them. How do you DO this to an infant????

“We believe the baby is deceased and so does the family. It’s really asking people to be empathic but also to help us. Baby Zaraz is still missing - we still need to find her,” Bloomington public information officer John Fermon said.

Family members said they just wanted to know what happened to Zaraz.

Police say they believe missing infant is deceased

Going off of @GuyfromCanada 's post.
The arrest was 29-year-old Kimberlee Burton’s fourth this month and the first pointing to the death of her missing daughter.

7-month-old Zaraz Walker was initially believed to have been last seen two weeks ago. Police now believe she’s been missing for nearly a month.

Been arrested 4 times in a month, missing baby, leaves the other children behind alone as well. I will never understand this. IMO

want to know why KB was allowed to have unsupervised custody of 3 children under 6 years old. I'm guessing her criminality is long-standing and did NOT all start this month. Was her ability to watch the kids ever evaluated?

Wow. Can't think of many cases where police don't keep going with the "we still hope to find him or her alive and well" type statements for longer. And it's somewhat unusual for family to accept early on that they believe their family member to be deceased as well. The mother must be a real piece of work, aside from the 4 arrests in a month already I mean.

it wouldnt be unless the kids were in her care when arrested or the crime involved the kids. if LE doesnt know about the kids how would anyone know to evaluate her.

this happens all the time. usually though, the kids get on the radar before this.

i think most of the arrests center around this case. there was the theft that brought the unsupervised kids to LE attn, then arrest for neglect for leaving the kids then this arrest. the 4th may be related or maybe not.

The mother of a missing baby told female relatives the child died after falling asleep between her legs. That’s according to prosecutor Brad Rigdon, who spoke during a bond hearing Friday for Kimberlee Burton.

Police in Bloomington are still looking for the body of 6-month-old Zaraz Walker, last reliably seen by a neighbor on Jan. 26. Walker was reported missing Feb. 12 after the father of two of Burton’s children called police to tell them he could not find the baby.

Yes, consider calling 911, consider CPR, consider running outside screaming "HELP ME! MY BABY STOPPED BREATHING!"

Or, figure out a way to dispose of a tiny human.

So many of these lately, horrendous.

Here we go again. Where was CPS in all those arrests? Do we have a timeline for them? Did sweet Zaraz disappear when she was arrested/in jail? I don't buy her story of how the child died.

Yea, seems awfully convenient o_O Especially for a 7 month old baby...they should have ability to lift their head by that age, and should be able to use reposition their head if their face is smushed.
Only way I can see this as a possibility is if mom was incapacitated with substances of some kind and did notice baby had fallen or rolled over for an extended time, and it would have been obvious to medical staff that death was a few hours ago, so she covered it up. But again, I don't think we have any reason to believe her.
