The last PC was April 22.

I think I may have gotten my hopes up too high.

As more time passes I don't think LE has the slightest clue who BG is. :(

My hopes were high that the press conference would lead to something, but I had no expectation that it would be anytime soon.

I certainly didn’t believe that they had any idea who he was, at the time.

Hopefully it did lead to something, or does lead to something down the road.

I agree. I believe I've used the phrase "hiding in plain sight" to describe the moment when I finally found my car keys.

Ooops, sorry. This was supposed to quote another post. I'm tired.

My hope is BG is identified and caught before he kills or attempts to kill again.

Yeah, it’s an incredibly common phrase.

Read enough true crime books, or watch enough crime docu-shows, you’ll hear it said more times than you can count.

I hate that phrase, simply because it is used so often.

Totally off topic here. Today I accidentally clicked on a "members" tab or something, and it had tabs for different stats. Did you know you hold the #1 spot for the most "likes"....?????

People, we are in the presence of greatness!!!! :) <3

Lord, don't tell him that. Now he's going to get a big head and make us all start addressing him as "Your Greatness, Keeper of the Likes" whenever we reply to him. :p

ITA. "Hiding in plain site" seems to be the buzz phrase when it comes to crime.

It is, especially in regards to crimes like this.

The perpetrator is unknown, but is believed to be from the area.

He’s not in the run; he’s living his life.

It would be interesting to find out how they hired workers for their facilities. Were these locals? Any background checking? Where did workers live, did they rent, or were there some multi-apartment houses for them? Prior history of construction work? Who was absent from.work on Feb 13th? Indiana Packers is a huge job provider, I bet they have HR department.

It's a pork packing plant.

Yeah, unless we're talking about a Timothy McVeigh type, the same could be said about most murderers.

Here, not only packers...

.” Big thanks go out to Tippman Construction, LLC for their masterful project management, Carroll County Economic Development Corporation and the Carroll County Redevelopment Commission for their help with infrastructure upgrades and the Carroll White REMC for their help with energy-efficient design.”

LOTS of people. Hiding in this area of work is not “in plain sight”, more like “a needle in a haystack”.

It could be someone from Tippman Construction, too. Basically, anyone. But these people are officially employed, I hope. Maybe some jobs are even unionized?

I am not a specialist in Indiana dialect, but the man spoke like a local.

I am afraid that in the various PC’s, they have trotted out every LE cliche ever known...which makes it harder for me to listen with any real optimism. Jmo

A lot of the things they've said, things people are reading into, really are either cliches or general things that are said during lots of different crimes. For instance, Carter's made comments that come across in a religious sense and it's been theorized that his words mean that BG is affiliated with a church, yet similar things have been said about the Flora fires. They've spoken about the Delphi deaths, too, and relayed how horrible they were so it's been theorized that they must have been posed or killed in some really unique manner-yet the same thing's been said about the Flora girls. While I'm optimistic that the case will be solved, I'm not hanging my optimism on their words. "One one tip away"? Every unsolved crime is only one good tip away.

They do indeed have an HR department. I have no idea as to how much their employees (full time, part-time and temporary) are screened. Maybe someone with knowledge can fill us in.

IP was an immediate place the police looked. IP will hire felons. Workers can take a free shuttle from Lafayette to tour and apply. I believe there is a church helping out with that shuttle trying to get indigent men back on their feet. I believe they have high turnover, but nothing came of police searches and interviews - I believe police have been back twice for mass interviews. There is a lot on the internet about it.

Switching subjects......

I know you are a local and I am sorry if this has been addressed previously: What if he had a kayak?

This page here suggests that the sport is popular in your area:
