Excellent question. I feel like I know of a case where they did give all they had to the public, but I cannot recall specifics. Someone here will have an example.

Not much released with Lyric and Elizabeth either.
Could it be that less details are likely to be released when the murder victims are children?

I think where the Delphi murders case has gone wrong is in the police opinion that the killer is local. There really is no evidence to suggest the killer is local or not unless the police have evidence that points them in that direction. In the Evansdale, Iowa murders of Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins I am sure the police probably thought that killer is local to the area too. And that case is now almost 7 years old.

Sketches and photographs are only going to be as good as what they show. All I see is the basic clothing and a man who has a body frame that suggests to me that he is an older man in his 50's or 60's. The clothing he is wearing makes me think he is a refrigerated truck driver.

Everyone has an opinion, but sometimes our opinions are wrong. But many a case has been solved because a detective followed their theory about what they think happened. The Delphi killer may be a young man who is local to Delphi, Indiana. Who really knows?

Even if a case is solved, time matters. It is great that any case gets solved, but I do not think families want to wait years or decades for it to happen. I guess time will determine how this case unfolds going forward.

Misty, here is the situation, if the LE knows but can’t prove, then other people could at least make the same conclusions.

If the LE has no clue, then of course, it won’t.

RLs property consists of 40 acres. His house is as far as could be from the crime scene and definitely not within view.

What if RL had a friend who had a son of questionable character? Someone who was acquainted with the property and the bridge from the time he was a young boy? If nothing else, IMHO, this killer oozes familiarity.......with the bridge, the creek and the lay of the land. All speculation, of course.

If the murderer blabbed/bragged to others, his circle of family or friends consists of despicable characters whom he trusts because they’re just as disgusting as him.

LEs best hope might be if somebody is arrested and offers up incriminating information about another person as part of a plea deal.

Another question. How likely is it that RL, who, as I understand, had legal issues, is going to advertise his absence from home?

So he either ran into RL in town or wherever he went to buy fishies, or he simply knew RL well? The version that he was quietly living he was at RL’s property for several days I discount as he would not know when RL would return.

Did Libby have FB App on her phone? If so anyone on her FB friend's list can look up Who is Near Me. It's a feature that's been around at least two years. It lets you know who is around you! I'd assume LE would know about this feature. If her FB account was public anyone with an account can see who is Near By.

But didn’t she take BP’s phone as hers was malfunctioning the previous day? BP’s phone would have BP’s FB, unless Libby logged BP out and logged herself in. Raises a number of questions. Either BP’s FB was open, and then people would see BP next to them, not Libby...or Libby took the phone...and maybe logged herself into FB? Or maybe not? She logged into Snapchat, but FB is not that popular with kids.

This is also one of the reasons I don’t believe LE have a prime suspect. Carter didn’t give any indication the case was close to getting solved, just the opposite, it’s only the beginning.

Which I was reminded of below, Feb/18. 42,000+ tips, there ought to be more than a few potential suspects lined up in that queue by now....

Agree. And don’t forget the reward offered of $225,000. The person who knows who this is isn’t motivated by almost a quarter of a million dollars. To me, they’re either protecting a loved one or they themselves are part of the criminal world and live on the margins, like the killer.

A lot happens in 28 months. For a case to be unsolved this long with audio and pictures of the suspect leads me to believe it wont ever be solved unless something drastic happens.

I would have done exactly what they are doing if I had nothing, ask for the public's help and if that still leads to nothing, theres absolutely nothing that can happen unless the suspect messes up himself.

I will also add, at the end of the lecture/interview (i believe it was Susan Hendricks) and she also spoke about how close she has become with both families over the years, and even speaks to them on the phone to call and check on them (and on holidays). At the very end of the lecture, they allowed audience members to stand up and ask questions. We didn't have too much time left, but one of the participants asked about (to Kim) the possibility of there being a tool or weapon on GB's person. Kim said that they are not 100 % sure, and that could be true. They have had loads of people send in tips, amateurs that have enhanced the photos we have of BG, but the one Kim mentioned was one that had been super enhanced by an internet sleuther that really did make it look like he was carrying a sword. now, i'm not too sure that didn't "slip" out, or if his point was that they receive all kinds of tips, some helpful, some not helpful at all, but he never really alluded to whether or not the sword issue was one of the types that they tossed aside bc it was ridiculous or if they actually used it bc, after the enhancement, it became important to look further in to this person. it was a vague statement that stood to me, for sure. And no more detail about his was mentioned, they moved on to the next question.

The last question, bc the lecture was ending and we were out of time, someone stood up and said (to the families) "how will you feel if it ends up being a family member to any of you?) (mike, kelsi, kim, and abby's grandparents were on the panel). The room got very quiet and unfortunately it ended, and they never really got to answer the question, (or perhaps chose not to), but those were the 2 things that stood out to me while watching their interviews.

Loved Crimecon so much, it was so much wow, and I will certainly try to go again in the future. It was like Websleuths (but even better, sorry Websleuths) but in real time, in a real place, with the real people. It was a beautiful event. Also got to meet Gray Hughes, and John Lordan which i totally fan-girled over. Haha! Even got a pic with Gray! (who was VERY sweet and not his usual "meany" self like he sometimes comes across in his informative videos lol.) Overall, GO if it's ever near you. It's one of the most wonderful experiences i've ever had.

A very important point you made here.
This Perp was seemingly (speculation), loaded up with murderous tools and scaling this scary and dangerous bridge adeptly, with apparent speed to catch the girls. This leads me to speculate whether he was very accustomed to running across the bridge on a dare, or works in an occupation where he is accustomed to maneuvering at heights:
Construction, tree-trimer, forestry, window washer, firefighter, roofer....

This is someone who used to play and race across the bridge on dares. This is someone who is comfortable working at heights, and probably gets a thrill from it. Otherwise, he would have lay in wait on the ground for the girls. The height was part of the thrill.

Amateur opinion and speculation

It would seem to me that he had to be muscular and rather slim, to carry all these tools on him across the bridge.
