Ok, I know this has been discussed before many times. But it just really clicked for me! I just watched a video on social media and it looked like some older men dancing to a hip hop song. In the comments, it mentions they are young and masked and I was like "what??" These were really good masks, not a Halloween garish kind. From afar, totally realistic.

So my new theory (as of now, it changes daily!) is that BG was wearing a mask for his bridge walk. That could be why Libby got so scared and went to video him surreptitiously. She never mentioned it during the chatter about a creepy man earlier because she didn't notice it until he was closer. By the time she does and realizes how odd is body language is and they are isolated with him, she is in panic mode just trying to get a recording of him and not bothering to narrate her video. Or maybe never realized it. But either way, he is masked. Between the pixels, distance, and quick pan, LE were not able to tell it was a mask and are amazed they have this footage, put a lot of stock in it, and go with a sketch made from the video and perhaps a witness that saw him from afar on the bridge.

Meanwhile, there are sightings of someone suspicious or in the same clothing , but he is a much younger man, he has a bunch of hair, no facial hair, etc. Sketch is made, but not gone with because the focus is on the bridge video and any witness that saw him on/near the bridge, which is of course is when he would have been masked.

Google realistic human masks and you will see how real life they are! Again, I know this is an old theory, but I didn't really take it seriously until I saw how real they look. Wish.com has one with facial hair and a bald head for only $12. Very creepy!

Tonight there is an Open To Public meeting about Delphi school finances. I wonder if many folks will attend. I wonder if reporters might venture off the topic of school finances at all, with possibly a large crowd of townies in attendance, and get folks' thoughts and feelings about Delphi in general, what the vibe is there re: schools, safety of their kids, etc.

I still wonder about where this guy lived at the time and currently lives now. I have a difficult time believing he lived within 10-15 miles of the trail, although he either lived there years ago or had reason to visit there in order to be familiar with the trails and the surrounding area. I would imagine he lives in a larger city like Lafayette or Indianapolis or Louisville KY. In a larger city he would not stick out as much. I still believe that somewhere there is a neighbor, co-worker or coffee shop barista who sees him on a regular basis and every time this case comes on the news they lightly reflect on how he looks like the killer. Then that person probably moves onto something else and forgets about it for a while. Unless that person is a co-worker who knows his work schedule they can't make the connection between a day off and the murders.

Respectfully, we don't have the "killer's look". A sketch and a grainy video and the conversation we aren't allowed to hear.

It is useless for the public. I can only see whom he does not remind me of.

Maybe he visits a grandma on the farm, but she doesn't follow the Internet? Just an idea. All of it looks useless so far.

Yes, I have wondered about a mask also. Could explain Carter's behavior at April PC, his mannerisms/body language seeming to suggest (MOO) LE (whom I respect greatly!!!) may have been embarrassingly duped.

Makes sense. Where the person puts the mask on, he should shed the DNA... Dead skin cells. Where did he do it?

ETA: @flashy09 , but wait.

If it is a mask, he is a clown! A clown hunting for kids. Not "the shack"! Another book and movie...

I work nights (7p to 7a) and we always have Sunday night OFF unless it is "our weekend" to work. Does the Subaru plant run in 8 hour shifts or 12's? They employ a lot of people?

Or where he doffs it, more likely to shed skin cells there I think.

Well.....what if he left the bodies in a cross? I was thinking about that as well. That kind of staging would take very little time and could bring about the religious tone in the PC? There has been hints of some sort of staging or symbolism in the way the bodies were found.

I would think he would take it off as soon as he hit a public trail again. Basically cover his bases if he was seen in the woods or on the bridge, but as soon as back in the public eye he is just taking a nice walk. Back to himself and accounted for not killing anyone right around that time.

He also needs to get rid of it. Is there a good place in his way?

Pure speculation and I'm sure we have discussed this before but of everything Carter said in the last press conference the one thing that really sticks with me was when he said "you want to know what we know...." my first impression of that statement and the impression I still hold today is that BG has in some way made communication with LE, similar to the Zodiac.

Something had to have set off that press conference. Why, when they just had the anniversary press conference in February would they come out in April with all this new direction business. Did LE have the press conference in order to communicate back to him. We've all discussed the various things Carter said in that press conference that appear to be directed at the killer, The Shack, his conscience, their not the way you left them and so on....

I really had the feeling that BG had made contact with LE, taunting them.

This is just a thought I had after reading your post. What if an anonymous call came into the tip line, not necessarily taunting, but kind of asking questions? Maybe something was said that made this caller stand out as the possible killer, or someone who knew the killer; something only the killer would know. As far as that goes, maybe even the CPS lot vehicle was asked about, and the call was made via a local public phone or something.

How was the crime scene itself contaminated on the first night when the girls were not found until noon the next day? May the area nearby, but the group that found them were likely told not to touch anything and to call for law enforcement before doing anything. The area where the girls were found did not have 1000 people going through it or they would have been found that night.
500 pairs of feet and ATV's tramping all around the bridge and the trails would have contaminated the immediate area. Hopefully not the crime scene area where the bodies were found as it is generally believed that was not searched until 14th Feb.

Hi,
First time poster-hope you don’t mind me suggesting this, but....is it possible that the witness who reported something they felt was suspicious, was reporting BG removing a mask?
Thanks for listening...

That would definitely be suspicious!

I wouldn't think he would leave it near the trails. I wonder if there is a way LE could search at least the major mask selling stores online records and see if any were sent to Delphi or surrounding areas. Or local Halloween stores records and then look at the surveillance video for that day. There can't be that many people buying human masks.

Question / thinking about something:

We know that early on LE had mentioned the possibility of BG walking down the Hoosier Heartland Pkwy with a duffel bag.

A few things about this. Why specifically a duffel bag and not perhaps say a back pack, just wondering.

More importantly, this indicates to me that they think he had something with him that would require a bag.

Change of clothes, kill kit...

I’m thinking more about this “change of clothes” scenario and thinking there could be 3 reasons for a change of clothes:

1. Bloody
2. Soaking wet from the creek
3. Changing clothes so as to appear different from the man in the area, had anyone seen him, ensuring a cleaner getaway.

Any other reasons why he would have a change of clothes?

Maybe took something from the scene, their clothing...(seems odd but if there was evidence on it)...Also if he was going to take a souvenir I wouldn’t think it would be large clothing items (has that ever happened before?)

We know that there is no bag seen with him on the bridge, so if he had something it was likely left on the other side of bridge near the trail when he first spotted the girls? Which would mean he would have had to have backtracked back across the bridge to retrieve the bag after the murders—would this be a correct line of thinking?

If so, this would indicate that he didn’t necessarily have the bag with him when the murders occurred.

So maybe that’s why he had the stuff sticking out of his coat, because he had to grab it real quick out of the bag to go after them on the bridge—he didn’t want to carry the bag on the bridge.

LE seemed to think he might have a bag with him. Why?

Perhaps they thought he would have a bag if he was a nomad /drifter (likely, imo).

Or if he was fishing maybe would have supplies....tackle box, etc.

But why a duffel bag? The drifters I know/see have those big back packs.

Perhaps this duffel bag business potentially correlates with BG1? Was BG1 a drifter?

Just some thoughts today.

ETA: iirc there was podcast which I never got a chance to listen to, if someone could please bump, tia. It had “Maureen” on it, iirc, and iirc that was the podcast which said BG1 might have been the RSO, who apparently was ruled out as there obviously is no arrest...But not really bc it could be combination of the two?

This is all so confusing. This sketch business.

just checking in occasionally and at random, so sorry if we've been over this.

do we know who the witness was that reported the hitch hiker/person with the duffel bag? if no other witness could corroborate that particular sighting, and the guy on the bridge doesn't have a duffel, i'd want to talk to that person again.
