hi k-mac,

I agree it’s strange he didn’t have sunglasses on. It makes me wonder if he wears glasses, possibly even prescription sunglasses, and didn’t wear them then because it would make him more recognizable.

RIP M+J

it really was to his disadvantage not hiding behind them.

maybe he didn't wanna wear as you say prescription ones but that means his vision would be poor without them?
I am like that. I only need p/sunglasses cause I struggle to see detail in number plates and street signs etc.
so that again is to his disadvantage not seeing properly.

moo

I think there is a reason for it though. and if not that says he's a dude who doesn't wear sunglasses.
that is in the minority now days. so a notable peculiarity to me.

He might not be wearing sunglasses because he normally wears eyeglasses that have transitional lenses (no need for sunglasses, they tint in the sun). Maybe he didn't wear his normal eyeglasses that day because he would be more recognizable with them on. MOO

EDIT: wrong word

He kept his head down and had a scarf for lower facial coverage. JMO

Since someone above defended having theories, here's one:

Our young offender experienced a trauma in his life. He experienced some kind of intense double-tap of powerlessness. Maybe it was something as innocuous as grades, or a missed scholarship. Others have suggested a breakup. Whatever the case, it was enough to make dark fantasies feel like solutions.

Self-concept shattered, perhaps more than he would allow others to recognize, he cultivated a revenge fantasy. Since he couldn't kill his ex, who he suspected was already seeing someone else, he would find a target.

Maybe it would be a girl three years younger, whose social media posts he followed and who he contacted anonymously using a throwaway account. A girl who rejected his advances on several occasions.

He opened Snapchat.

I agree that whatever happened to these precious girls was about POWER.

yeah I know what you mean 155 but thn he wouldn't be able to see properly.
the general consensus is he walked flat out across that dangerous bridge with missing boards everywhere just think it would deeply handicap him in the most dangerous way to obscure his vision.
which also then allowed anyone he came upon to see his eyes.

so thinking aloud he must have reasonable vision but why wasn't he wearing sunglasses to hide behind???

maybe he was???
dropped them in the creek in the rushed approach to the girls???

that actually makes most sense in my mind.....HE WAS.....and they slipped off looking down at his footing.

WONDER IF THEY FOUND ANY SUNNIES IN THE CREEK.

This is a great theory, K-Mac. Something I haven't ever considered. Huge mistake on BG's part (not wearing/dropping/losing sunglasses). We know that his eyes are not blue!

Someone refresh my failing memory- are we sure the “definitely not blue eyes” still stands? Or was that just before the new sketch?

I hesitate to resurrect the blue eyes discussion but I’ve now gotten confused, on the timeline itself, on whether the eye color remains in his physical description.

I definitely think this guy will follow the typical behavioral profile of someone who commits a crime like this.

Some sort of precipitating stressor; something that set the ball in motion.

These girls were an outlet for releasing his pent up rage and disappointment.

Where my view differs, is him finding them on social media. I don’t think he knew them, or had necessarily even seen them before. They were there, and he was hunting.

This actually happened where I live. He was a very athletic, popular HS guy who ended up being a serial rapist and the last girl was killed by him.
He was at my 16th surprise birthday party as we were all friends with him. My mom even worked with his mom.
We were SHOCKED to find out it was him.
HEY...@SilentRogue-- you think this one would sell .. maybe a book also??
It is true life and does happen and is really not that far fetched of a theory.

Hiding in plain sight. :(
I think this type of person is exactly who LE believes committed this crime. The Boogie-Man isn't always the terrifying monster we envision. Sometimes he's the boy next door.

I support your theory, Mike! :)
And agree that something traumatic has happened in BG's life somewhere along the line. I wish we had a better understanding of what that might be. His need for power and control (paraphrasing) was addressed in the last PC, so we know this ties directly to motive.

thanks JD:)
wouldn't it be fantastic if he did drop sunnies through the gaps in the bridge and LE retrieved them.
think it was carter iirc?? said you made mistakes.......
they have stuff.
sunnies would be a good item to have because most of us have the same pair for way too long... lol and existing pictures of the suspect wearing them likely.
I am hopeful this could be a possibility.
I know I would loose my glasses in that situation. so hard to keep them on the bridge of your nose when tilting downward.

I don't think we can read to much into the eye colour any which way MJP.
we can all see the same thing completely different.
I don't think LE would be ruling out anyone with blue eyes off of a witness description.
