WOOHOO. this is great news!
Why is it such great news? ETA: I just saw your post. OK, they can’t rule him out, but will he be ruled in?

I think if he is named a suspect in the case it's huge. no one has been a "suspect" DN was a POI.

<modsnip>

suspected.

boom.

mOO

That’s not what the post you’re replying to said. KG asks that people be responsible and NOT spread rumours...such as LE has named him a suspect.

Kelsi said she doesn't mind if people keep talking about this, but she just wants everyone to be responsible and not spread rumors such as that JBC is going to be arrested soon, there will be a press conference later today, LE has named him a suspect in the case.

I read this as an announcement.

I think what all of this implies, frankly, is that short of catching someone with a shrine or souvenirs or an outright confession, they don't have enough physical evidence to nail ANYONE for this crime. I hope I'm wrong.

I think you might’ve misunderstood. I read it that KG gives three examples of rumours (notice that the word rumours is plural) that are circulating - the three example are JBC is going to be arrested soon, there will be a press conference later today and LE has named him a suspect in the case

Not an announcement. It's what Kelsi hopes people DON'T do.

To me, Kelsi is saying, OK, talk about him as a POI but do not repeat ridiculous gossip such as: 1. He’s a suspect or 2. He will be arrested or 3. There will be a press conference.

What am I missing??

My fear as well.

Right. I don’t understand how it can be read any differently?

an etc. at the end of the sentence would have capped off the examples of what Kelsi doesn't wish us to do.

it's simply a mis-read on my part.

You're not wrong IMO.

I would love to see him named as an official suspect, but it’s a lot to hope for, unless/until there’s some big break, unfortunately.

That’s a frightening thought, that even if JBC or someone else is BG, there may be nothing solid to link them to it.

If I go back in the way back machine...I was 100 percent certain on DN. his alibi was shaky at best.

what is different here ? Chadwell seems like a much tighter fit. he gets caught being insanely violent...but has gotten away with his sadistic behavior and pedophillia for years , obviously with no one coming forward . I think some of his victims didn't live to tell.

mOO.

I agree. I still hold out some hope that he can be named a suspect or even directly linked to Delphi. Time will tell, but as Kelsi and the families must feel to an extreme degree, best not to have high hopes unless something big is actually announced.

I agree that it’s highly doubtful that at age 42 he did his first abduction. He may indeed be a serial killer.

I misread it yesterday too and couldn’t figure out why everyone wasn’t more excited. So I reread it a few times, I think if the last sentence had “or” before the last item in the list it would have been clearer. So it’s just poor phrasing that made it confusing.

I'm wondering this, too. The photos and sketches are incredibly nonspecific.
Perhaps, though, if LE has reason to believe that a "Specific Person" knows of this crime, then all the rest of us don't matter.

After KG's TikTok interview, I've gone from 75% confidence in JBC2 as a suspect to 10%. I'm taking KG's comment about investigators statements as "not encouraging" to mean a significantly low probability.

Another possibility that I've considered, is that LE has a good idea of the identity of the perpetrator, but they need "probable cause" to legally obtain search warrants and/or DNA. Perhaps, they need a "specific person" to name the suspect. Maybe the (paraphrase) "you will do this again" is a warning to a "specific person" that thinks this was a one time crime or a way of dealing with shame/guilt from the perpetrator being victimized themselves. Possibly, a "specific person" knows of the abuse of the perpetrator, but can't bring themselves to come forward because they feel or are culpable for the victimization of the perpetrator?
Not necessarily likely, but just ideas to toss out there to discuss.
Of course, all MOO.

The police have said that there were signatures that would lead directly to one person. I think they will be able to tie the killer to the scene, when he is found. I dont think they have as much DNA or evidence of that sort as we would hope, but I think it will still be able to be linked. We know there was a footprint (so shoe size will be able to be determined), additionally. It will take good, solid police work, but I think it can and will happen.
