I think at some point JBC decides that the only way to do whatever he really wants to do with a child, he is going to have to murder that child or those children..this is so he can live out his fantasy..he doesn't find it difficult he enjoys torturing and hurting and killing so , he kidnaps children and disposes of them afterwards.

to think he would take a child as a stranger or neighbor and rape her and choke her until blood came out of her eyes..inflict bites from an unrestrained pittbull...to beat her about the head...

this guy is perfect for this. the fact that he matches the height really moves the needle for me....also other things like his lack of fear when he is high above the ground and is suitable for high tower welding jobs..
he has also shown us that he is a killer...no matter that he wasn't successful...also he has shown his homelessness, love of trains, love of fire, that he is a loner and has hateful ideas about women.

I also think that when you are homeless, you have to carry what is important to you , with you..also you have to wear layers to stay warm..those clothes could have been a trash bin for all we know..there isn't a whole lot to do all day..If you are camped out somewhere for any period of time..you get the lay of the land..what the general population is..kids, dog walkers, hikers etc..

He could have been coming back from somewhere, and maybe he had been using the bridge as a shortcut?

He had a gun on him. and we have all seen the bullet picture of JBC...a guy that should not be near guns or ammo. To me it looks like he was bitten...not shot..A man like this having animals is a bad idea.

for all its worth.. for me the only suspect that really resemble any sketch was DN = FIRST SKETCH
cause when you say this person looks like a sketch.. its completely subjective..you might see what I dont see..

I thought DN was an excellent match with a sketch too ... tho not sure now what’s first sketch/ second sketch.

also ... am I imagining this..... was there a sketch at some point other than these two? Maybe one that was released & then withdrawn or something? .... it’s been a long time so good chance I’m just confused.... but I’m sure I spent a long time staring at the sketch upon release & neither of these two are all that familiar to my eyes

I don't think he is either. LE would have found a link by now if he was connected. Imo

After KG's TikTok interview, I've gone from 75% confidence in JBC2 as a suspect to 10%. I'm taking KG's comment about investigators statements as "not encouraging" to mean a significantly low probability.

My gut says they may have a short list of who they feel could be the suspect, or of individuals they suspect could possibly know who BG is by association. When they say “one puzzle piece”, I think of possibly (JMO) needing one of the following:
-an alibi to break
-a certain person (or an associate of a certain person) to state something that wouldn’t be known to anyone outside the investigation
-weapon or another piece of physical evidence to connect suspected perp to crime scene

“I’m speaking directly to the killer, who may be in this room,” he said at the time. “We believe you are hiding in plain sight. For more than two years, you never thought we’d shift gears to a different investigative strategy, but we have.”

My gut feel is while having the video and audio help, even if they know who the perp may be, the video and audio are not enough. As has been observed it would be easy for a defense attorney to argue “Well, look at person in photo X, they look like BG, look at person in photo Y, it could be said they also look like BG, etc. etc. Which is also why I think random side by sides do more harm than good.

Was this stated in a linkable source that they already knew of JBC? It would be helpful to read it and understand the context. If it is coming from Facebook posts, it would be considered rumor.

Maybe, the possible second person is missing, but the killer is known. When a violent childabuser appears on the surface, caught in the act like JBC, LE have to proof, if there might be a connection between the known killer and this person for getting to their last puzzle piece finally: evidence, the killer had been at the crime scene area on Febr 13th, 2017/around 2:30 pm. IMO/speculation.

I agree with you that the "one puzzle piece" is a very specific piece of information. IMO LE aren't sitting around waiting for the public to solve this for them by coming up with something they haven't thought of, as some people have alleged; instead, they have particular pieces of evidence that apparently can be linked to a specific person if they can only follow into more information.

What your example shows is that we all see things differently. I see a man in Liberty German's phone video different from either sketch released to the public. This makes me think this bridge guy was never seen or remembered by witnesses that day.

I think this person was at least 50 years old at the time of the crime, possibly refrigerated truck driver, and may have some sort of disability that they have had for a long time, possibly since childhood. These are my opinions about the case.

I hope someday this case gets solved so I can see how far off or how close I was compared to what ended up being the truth.

I hope this case gets solved for the families that lost loved ones.

With regard to the “one puzzle piece”, I find it confusing. If you look at criminals in the past such as Son of Sam, Ted Bundy, the Green River killer, and others, it seemed as though they were caught at something and arrested, and everything quickly fell into place. That’s what I had hoped for in this instance.

Tying JBC to the murders might be problematic for LE. CC Sheriff Leazenby stated in the HLN update in February that even though they have DNA they don't know if they have the killer's DNA. So if JBC's DNA matches MAYBE they have something. BUT if his DNA doesn't match the DNA at the scene it doesn't really rule him out as it isn't known if the killer really left DNA. I don't know about the quality of the fingerprint the sheriff has alluded to in a newspaper interview. LE may have other evidence. Shoeprints for example. But again if they don't find a match with the shoes in his house it doesn't rule him even if LE can pinpoint the size. In four years those shoes could be gone or the additional wear makes it difficult to draw a straight line to JBC. Even if he has a blue jacket that isn't the smoking gun LE might need. I believe I read one article referenced on here where a close family relative saw the video of the killer on the bridge and he couldn't say one or another if that was JBC.
