I don't remember reading this anywhere, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's been suggested several times. My thoughts lately have been that he had a history of sexual assault, and may have committed one or more since the girls' deaths. I believe it's possible that he planned to assault the girls and leave them there, thinking he could be out of the area before any help arrived. Once he grabbed one, or both, of them, he got more of a fight than he expected and ended up killing Abby while trying to get control of them. Once he finished (whether he actually raped Libby or just got too scared to do anything more), he also killed Libby and left.

If murder wasn't his original plan, it's possible that he hadn't killed anyone before them, and hasn't killed anyone else since. If that's the case, I really think the only way he'll ever be captured is if one of his assault victims identifies him. Arresting him for another assault could be just what they need to tie him to the murder of the girls.

I thought we could agree that rape def didnt happen at least the regular way.. cause the case would have been solved by now..also the families denied strongly ..that doesn't mean the case isnt sexually motivated

But comment was made almost two years ago now and LE is no longer saying anything at all about the vehicle, nor is there any mention of it on the FBI wanted poster.
Almost 3 years now and nothing. Yes, they probably have answered the question by now. OR LE realizes they aren't going to get an answer. I'm still baffled by LE waiting over 2 years to mention it. That was a real Hail Mary pass. I have a rural road I commonly drive on to get to a nearby park and I pass a vacant business on the way and this route is not the common route to the park. If LE asked me now if I saw a vehicle parked there in, say, November 2019, I doubt if I would ever recall seeing a vehicle let alone ANYTHING that would even remotely ID it.

Again with the infamous vehicle parked at the CPS building. It makes me wonder if this wasn't from a tip. (OR someone traveling to the trail that afternoon to help with the search such as Liberty's Aunt Tara.) If it was a tip then it would seem to me that there was something about it that got the person's attention. Something about the appearance such as a wild custom color or paint scheme. (That scenario I doubt.) Or the tipster either worked for CPS or had a close relative that worked for CPS and thought, "That's strange. We haven't used that building in a while so I wonder why there is a vehicle there?" (My most likely scenario.) If that is the case, then that person may be the only one who gave it a second thought and no one else did.

The word “vehicle” leads me to believe that it could’ve been something other than a car. Like a motorcycle, and not just a HD. But something like a Ducati, a Hayabusa, a chopper, an Indian motorcycle, etc., or a truck. Or even a car that’s not often seen on the road, e.g. antiques, muscle car are, expensive cars like a Bentley, Aston Martin, Bugatti, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz G-class, etc. Or even one with some kind of customization of the body, not necessarily the paint job, like you mentioned (although that is a good point/idea). Or even a vehicle that was not known to be driven by the locals, etc...

Most likely "vehicle" is just cop-speak.

I went down this road before because I know of a potential POI who is a motorcyclist. Someone found for me a quote/instance when LE specifically called it a car. Can’t look for a link or anything but it satisfied me. Doesn’t mean it’s still relevant though. (I haven’t forgotten that motorcyclist.)

You are right, there was one LE quote that called it a "car." Sgt. Riley specifically called it a car in a WLFI News 18 interview. This is the same interview from which we got his information that after reviewing many tips, investigators were able to determine that he got around quickly on that day. Also the quote about "somebody may have already interviewed him. I'm not going to say whether they have or have not."

It would be very interesting to read his posts. Allegedly, he had high IQ. I wonder if it showed.

He commented using his own name on both articles… but there was no way to know he was the perp based on his comments IMO.

I always thought they had some kind of DNA evidence in this case, but I guess they don’t. If they did, surely it would have been uploaded to GEDmatch and/or other databases. Looks like what they have is audio and video of perp, maybe or maybe not a car. Is that it? Moo

You are right. I wouldn’t say he was James Aldridge in his writing style, but pretty logical and cool.

The story about Bird is interesting; I never knew there was a poi in Koenig’s case. Let it be the reminder to those compiling a long list of “Delphi’s pois”.

On the other hand, ISP has to be very careful with wording during these PCs. They taunt, but don’t deliver. People, obviously, take everything that has been said as a hint.

I would be incredibly surprised if they don’t have “some” DNA. This DNA can be even identified (or not), but it is probably not tied up to the murder. In other words, the DNA proves some contact, but not necessarily violence. Another possibility (planted, or broken chain of custody and hence, unusable) is possible, but less likely.

I personally think all DNA has been identified and matched to human beings. So, either the perpetrator left no DNA or the perpetrator is among those with known contact with the girls (i.e. friends, family, search party).

I believe LE has stated they have DNA now or at least Sheriff Leazenby stated it this last February when he stated they have DNA but they don't know if they have the killer's DNA. At the 2018 CrimeCon, ISP 1st Sgt Jerry Holeman stated they would neither confirm nor deny they had DNA.

With regard to this article, Sheriff Leazenby refuted the statement that they had DNA and that he was misquoted.

I think they have unknown DNA from the crime scene but it’s touch DNA and it’s not necessarily from the killer. It’s not a big help except to worry BG a bit.

If matched, it could even explain the timing of 2019 conference. Sent —- > matched ——> understood own mistake ——> got very angry.

Thank you for the information.
Interesting because in the interview that Leazenby did in 2021 for the Q&A
for the Carroll County Comment. he basically would not address questions about DNA at all.

Q. Is there partial DNA or a full DNA profile of the suspect?

If there is DNA, has it been run against a genealogy DNA database?

A. This also speaks to an evidentiary aspect of the investigation.

It's hard to keep it straight because DNA has been brought up in other interviews with at least a couple of others including DC that seem to have been puled for one reason or another. I wish I could repeat what DC said- unfortunatley finding a link is near impossible.
Anyway- given what has been said, I can agree with the fact that they likely don't know , or didn't know who the DNA belongs to.
And that could be for different reasons.

For those of you who believe that Chadwell is BG, did he have a car at that time?

I had forgotten about that "answer". That's about the same time or after the HLN interview where he said they had DNA. Talk about mixed messages.

Thanks for this.

His comment on the second article is interesting in that he is discouraging tips. I have noticed a handful of online accounts across YT and Reddit that I believe to all belong to one person, and a common theme is that they discourage tips, want everyone to become demotivated and forget about the case, move on, "it will never be solved" etc.
