Stating that they will need more manpower after an arrest maybe means this is definitely tied to the online child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 thing and others are going down for that.

And maybe why they rented that other building a few months ago.

As We Approach the Five-Year Anniversary of the Abby and Libby Murder Investigation

Delphi, IN - On February 13, 2017, Abigail Williams and Liberty German went missing while walking on a trail near the Monon High Bridge in the town of Delphi, Indiana. On February 14, 2017, their bodies were discovered. The Carroll County Sheriff's Department assisted by the Indiana State Police, Delphi Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies continue to work diligently to bring this case to a close.

Law enforcement continues to utilize county, local, state, and federal resources to accomplish our goal. There is still a dedicated, multi-jurisdictional team working on this case every day, which includes two Carroll County detectives, two Indiana State Police detectives, and other law enforcement officers. We continue to actively investigate all tips and leads we receive by phone and email. This type of violent crime cannot and will not go unanswered.

Anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to contact law enforcement by utilizing the TIP HOTLINE: [email protected] or (765) 822-3535. Provide as much information as you possibly can. Listed below are Statements from the Sheriff of Carroll County and the Superintendent of the Indiana State Police.

"We continue to diligently seek the justice so honorably owed to Abby, Libby, their respective families, and our dedicated, local community. To that end, I want to stress that the investigation is still quite active and is NOT a cold case. “Working diligently every day with our county, local, and federal partners, we continue to give our very best efforts to solve this case. Abby, Libby, their families, and the Delphi community deserve nothing less. We also continue to ask for tips to be submitted, because one day we will obtain that one piece of information we seek…the identity of the person responsible for this senseless crime.”
- Superintendent Doug Carter

I hope and pray this will be the last anniversary of the horrendous day Abigail and Liberty’s lives were tragically taken without their evil killer being charged and facing being held accountable for what they have done. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with their families. I can’t imagine how much they have suffered every single day for the last five years and they have had the constant worry the perpetrator would attack and kill more victims.

I’m sure law enforcement and all the other agencies involved in the investigation are doing everything they can to arrest the perpetrator and anyone who may be linked to them. Unfortunately this is a difficult and complex case but hopefully an arrest will be made in the not too distant future.

Thank you to all of you for continuing to care that Abigail and Liberty’s evil killer is held accountable for taking their lives and for all your posts including any news updates about the case. It is much appreciated.

Awhile back KAKs lawyer announced that his client will no longer be cooperating with LE for a plea deal. My first thought when hearing this was how odd to make sure this was announced so publicly when I don't believe we even knew he was cooperating for a deal.
Jury trial date set in Kegan Kline's child exploitation case | wthr.com
I also remember reading le was forced into announcing the a_s profile because it was going to come out anyway by the press and it would be better if le came out with it first. (This is my opinion because I don't remember where I read that) I thought maybe le coming out with the new info was the reason KAK was no longer interested in cooperating. Now not so sure what to make of it all.

I have come to the conclusion (speculation) that KAK never stopped cooperating and this is all a ruse by le to put major pressure on someone. I think le does know who BG is and approves of HLN's show. We shall see, I pray and hope something comes from this.
Also KAK filing a motion for continuance y'day for his pre trial hearing is interesting. Some new evidence or info I am guessing. Is KAK the alibi for someone else? Does he not want to turn on someone close to him? So many questions.

Couldn't help but feel hopeful when I heard Carter say "we know a lot about you." Cautiously optimistic and looking forward to what else we may learn in the next few days.

While we wait, I wanted to share this short video from a reporter from Indianapolis new station WTHR that was taken on Feb. 16th, 2017. I had never seen this angle of the crime scene before (the tape is still up).

Thanks @Yemelyan ! The crime scene is much closer to the water than I visualized. This angle helps me "see" it better

Indiana State Police leader on Delphi murders: 'I wish we could tell people what we know'
What would Carter say to the killer?

“What the family says. Today could be the day; sleep well. Today could be today. Maybe it’s tomorrow,” Carter said.

News 8 also asked Carter if he believes an arrest will be made one year from now.

“You all are very creative when you ask me questions. Personally, I am very critical of myself and I certainly hope that by the time my run here ends that there’s an arrest made. I think it will be before that, and that’s all,” Carter said.

I've also been pondering that this public announcements and interview are all a set-up. I don't want to get my hopes up but I guess hope is all there is sometimes.

HLN just posted this tweet about the upcoming special tomorrow night and in it Barbara McDonald says about the jailhouse interview with KAK:

"He says investigators have told him that he was the last person to communicate with Libby before her murder"

So not only did KAK actually communicate with Libby, but he was the last person to do so (aside from Abby I guess?). Not sure what to make of that, if they are only talking about social media or what. Very interested in what exactly that means and when specifically he supposedly last communicated with Libby.

I just finished trying to find the HLN schedule. It airs tomorrow night at 8 PM (I assume that is Eastern Time because it doesn't say) and is rebroadcast at 11 PM. They are also rebroadcasting the 2021 2-hour special at 6-8 PM and again at 9-11 PM.

The tweet is interesting. The anthony_shots case has driven up the total tips to 70,000. (That is an unbelievable number for tips in a case.) And KAK, in his interview, claims LE told him that he was the last person to communicate with Liberty before the murders.

I doubt they care about that...they just want it solved! As all of us do.

After Libby’s sister, who dropped the girls off? I’ll always a little leary of HLN’s hype, recalling the days of Nancy G. They make it appear as if KAK is offering a confession in this “old” interview, which absolutely cannot be true or an arrest would’ve already occurred.

I agree. KAK's communication with Liberty leading to the killer will only work if there is an electronic trail. If the killer never used that SM or was not at all involved with KAK or his associates then it is a dead end. Don't get me wrong, I like that LE is trying that approach. But I wonder how much of this is hype.

Yeah, I somehow trust the HLN crew that's been working on this. They've had access to the family and LE for years; my guess is they don't want to ruin that relationship. While I get it's sensational to have that clip of KAK, I think most of us know that he's not confessing but likely he communicated with Libby on her phone after she was dropped off. Or, that's what LE told him and it's not true but was done to ruffle his feathers even more. Now, that could mean nothing to the investigation or it could mean everything. But LE sure is making it sound like it means something and it's starting to feel more that they feel KAK is someway linked to this crime, even if it's just a "casual" link.

Also, on a side note. One statement from someone, even if it's a confession does not automatically lead to an arrest. If there's no evidence to back up that confession, most LE who know what they are doing will not proceed immediately with an arrest.

Catching up, but wanted to say one never really knows what is going on with LE and their investigation behind the scenes. And just when you think a case may never be solved, bam, an announcement.

It has been announced Kara Nichols (WS Thread link), who went missing in 2012, has been found (deceased) and a suspect in custody.

I thought her case was totally cold. It’s been quite quiet, imo. It seems LE had a suspect the whole time, had tracked her phone to the suspect’s residence, and even executed a search warrant on his property. None of this had been released to the public, that I recall.

There had also been a confession by the suspect to his family members. So, basically, somebody knew something, other than the suspect, which is possibly also the case here (or not).

Did KAK have any associates in his, um, enterprise?
