HG Investigates videos are very easy to find-- just by description.

The problem today as the case heats up in the news is that
non-credible sources are taking liberty with his and even MSM videos-- adding narration and/or editing, and these are definitely not approved for posting. And it takes a few days to get the copyright violators shut down.

When in doubt, ask a Mod for approval.

Earlier means before they crossed the bridge, right? So they had to have come across him between being dropped off and getting on the bridge. And there's 23 minutes between the Snapchat photo and the time LE is giving as the time the video of BG was shot.
How long does it take to cross the bridge?

I've wondered about the timing, as well. Maybe they were almost ready to head back across the bridge when he got to them?

I just now got to the part on the last thread that the two sketches are NOT the same guy! WHAT? We were asking store owners to hang fliers of the sketch and barcode with the voice clip for 2 years... of the WRONG person?

It took 23 minutes to catch up with them, and it seems from the released video that he was able to cross the bridge quickly. The timeline from Kelsi confirms they were dropped off roughly 37 minutes before the snapchat picture was posted.

IMO, they either a) crossed paths with BG near the beginning of their hike, meaning he was hanging around the more populated areas waiting for...maybe a victim? or b) they crossed paths with him right before they crossed the bridge, and it took him 23 minutes, give or take, to build of the courage to do what he did.

Well there is one saving grace. Early on everyone expected this case to be solved quickly. It wasn’t, but now we learn they were “on the wrong track” So it is possible that this second start will actually result in a rapid closure. We can hope.

Fingers crossed. Just one thing however. LE was highly likely to be on multiple tracks at the same time. They decided to publicly hone in on one but probably were working others, continuously.

Something occurred I think to make them publicly hone in on another track.

I’m generally a lurker but I had a couple thoughts and I’m also way behind so excuse me if this has been covered over and over...I really don’t think they were filming him at all, I think she was filming her friend and he happened to be in the background. The clip seems really zoomed in so BG was probably pretty far back and just happened to be in part of the clip, this would also explain why there is only a couple seconds of grainy footage of him. I believe whatever happened to them happened after they got off the bridge. I picture either “guys” shows weapon and motions “down the hill” or “guys” points at something interesting “down the hill”. Just my thoughts, and now I’m going to go and try to catch up, again.

I dont know. We have two completely different sketches and a between 18 and 40 description. I feel they are completely lost and have no idea where to turn other than the media in hope somebody remembers something from 2 years ago.

MOO we have one sketch now.
The other has been eliminated.

That means hard information is now in the hands of the police. The old eliminated sketch was composite production. But it was their best bet at the time.

sorry but i'm really hung up on the hat/hair thing still. i was just looking at two different pictures of him on the bridge and i think i've figured it out - in one of them he has his hoodie up, and then in another the hoodie had fallen down because you can see it around his neck. In the picture when the hoodie is down, his hair is definitely straight so i have no idea if it was a wig/hair piece or what.

i'm 99.9% sure the discrepancy and confusion about whether we're looking at a hat or hair is from him wearing a hoodie. having the hoodie up can look like the shape of a newsboy's type hat as in the first sketch, but then he had taken it off or it had fallen down and that's why other people don't see a hat because there wasn't anything covering his head.

If LE knows of, or strongly suspects, one individual suspect...and that individual has not confessed, (read: " does NOT have a little bit of conscience left"...) then I assume LE is gathering the necessary evidence to procure an arrest and conviction. I still hope that is the case even though several days have passed.

Did she say leaning or looking? Because the 2nd photo that went on SC at that time was a long look down the length of the bridge. Quite artful.

I can go back and re-listened but I believe she said it was of Libby leaning. She did talk fast.

I have skipped quite a few pages to catch up. Sorry if this is repetitive.

The thing that stands out to me from the sketch is the right eye. It’s off center, that is pretty distinct and very specific.

I think this guy is on the older side in the range from 18-40 provided. His voice sounds older and his appearance and mannerisms on the bridge just seem older to me. LE said he may be older than how he appears.

Another interesting point is the two week window. If they had the evidence now they would have arrested him. They wouldn’t give it away if they were waiting on DNA evidence. Are they trying to apply pressure and flush him out. I think they are applying pressure.

I think this is someone known to the community and the intense emotional reaction at the press conference said that to me.

The guy on the video seems sort of short and compact but the new sketch has a man with a longer neck.

The lack of details of the vehicle was on purpose. They want who comes forward to be able to give the description and they can validate it.

The shack reference was either a tell to the killer that we know who you are or the killer is in contact and asked LE to reference as another form of control.

JMO - This video really shows how LE has been very emotional throughout this entire case. Not just Doug Carter and not just this week because of the sketchy sketch situation. From the beginning, those speaking have become very emotional and fighting to get their words out with breaking down. This is way beyond "normal" angry LE that we are more used to seeing. Something very bad and twisted went on in those woods seemingly way beyond "just" the murder of two young girls. They are all so stricken and horrified and that is scary as hell to see.

Thanks for that video. It's goodto see their demeanor early on.

I would say, however, that this is the murder of two little girls in a safe, small town in middle America.

It doesn't get any more bad and twisted than that regardless of the details.

I thought I remembered early on LE staying to not pay attention to the hat... so that would make sense.

Maybe that 2nd photo was taken from a position of leaning or even lying down on the bridge. No photo of Libby has been released from that day. The photo of her that was shown then was in the t-shirt she was wearing but taken another day.

Makes sense. He had to be close enough for his voice to be picked up though, which is harder in a wide open space.

The audio is not from the same time as the video we've seen. That seems obvious to me. There's much more recording that hasn't been released.

Clearly he got close enough to them to at a certain point physically control them via a weapon or grabbing on of the girls or threats or a combination, or to coerce or convince them to go with him.

That's likely when the audio was recorded. Not before when he was walking toward them with his hands in his pocket and head down.

Ignore the first sketch, they messed up. The second one is the real one and very good.

The 18-40 range threw me at first. I think they know his exact age. But my thinking is that they want people to come forward that saw him on the trail or as the driver of the abandoned vehicle and not limit witnesses in case he appeared older/younger.

What if Libby and Abby thought BG was going to try to rob them, steal the phone? In mine and my 12 year old daughters self defense class, we were told that if you think you are being robbed, throw the purse, car keys, phone, whatever, as far as you can and run the other direction. I don't for a minute think that's what he was planning, but I can see how that might be the first thing that comes to mind in that moment, not murder. He was completely focused on them and her throwing the phone, if she did, had no effect. It hurts my heart. I hope they catch him today. This case is what's in my head every single time one of my spawn ask to go anywhere without me.
