Having lived in a little town in Wisconsin after growing up in Pasadena and Seattle, I can see this very well. There a basically 2 kinds of people as far as LE is concerned. The “good”ones who have jobs and go to church and attend the pancake breakfast, and the ones who live out on the outskirts of town, have five cars in their front yard, and are probably addicted to something. We know there are so many more facets, but this is basically how small towns are divided up. They have been looking for the crazy Punisher hoodie dudes instead of the ones who show up to every parade to help hand out hot chocolate to the kids. That’s the hiding in plain state part. Someone who is handing out the bracelets at the vigil instead of the guy drinking Coors at the bowling alley .

SBM

My experience in small towns (and in general) is that those two things are not even remotely mutually exclusive.

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that BG was both of those things, and it still wouldn't have been helpful in narrowing it down because that could probably describe 400 different dudes in Delphi.

How do you think they came to the conclusion that the suspect is much younger than they originally thought? And that he is someone other than the person depicted in the first sketch? Or that he is from Delphi? Just a hunch?
Most likely they foind out they were meeting somebody there or came to that conclusion. Where would two girls meet somebody by themselves if they wanted to. Where did you go when you were younger

I think that one reason it might be considered a last resort is if there aren’t all that many people out there with the skills needed to work all the cases.

I saw an article recently that described how a lot of cases were being submitted to Parabon, who then prioritized easy-to-solve cases, and set aside the more difficult ones? Does anyone else remember seeing that?
I'm not sure about that one but there was an article I mentioned yesterday in which Leazenby said familial testing was being discussed, that it's "on the table" and they had not made a decision about it yet. It was from a year ago, though. Imo

DN, CE, TB, RL, etc. Did we not have pages of speculation about these guys? W they not all investigated based on sketch #1 instead of going to the credit union to see if the branch manager had a reason for shaving his soul patch?
If they’ve been looking at these kind of people then it stands to reason that they had a type of heathen in mind and it wasn’t the manager of the Piggly Wiggly or the HS football coach. JMO but that reason is class bias. Again, JMO MOO IMHO JFC
How do you know they didn’t go “to the credit union to see if the branch manager had a reason for shaving his soil patch?”

They investigate every tip, they have said this repeatedly.

<modsnip: personalizing and rude>

Those men you mentioned, were investigated based in part, on their resemblance to the sketch.

Their deviant behavior, shined a spotlight on them as well.

Yes! CeCe Moore is the director at Parabon, and they have hired on additional genealogists to assist more agencies. They were just working cold cases, which sort of meant there was not an urgency. But now they are getting active cases too which they give top priority!

But what does that have to do with te larger agencies like the FBI who are part of this investigation?
Are there FBI agents living in town or do they get files sent to them based on what local and state LE send them? My post was mostly about the classes on that exists everywhere but most especially in small towns where you’re either good or bad depending on how many family members have been arrested.

If they’re going to consider reverse genealogy I suggest they start with Jay Leno’s family. (Just Kidding!)
(On another “chin” side note - I actually have a cat with a Jay Leno chin.)
Off topic, sorry. But I very much want to see this cat!!

It something that is changing the crime game in drastic measures. I love it

I hope they solve this case because the sick 🤬🤬🤬 who did it needs to be off the streets.

They haven't indicated that the girls were meeting someone there.

Do you have inside knowledge of this investigation or something? Because otherwise, that’s just baseless speculation.

Those men you mentioned, were investigated based in part, on their resemblance to the sketch.

Isn’t that what JMO is for? Aren’t all of us here speculating? Is there a particular reason your speculations are any more valid than the rest of ours? Maybe no discussion should be allowed at all and Websleuths should just be a site where people repost only MSM and we call it Google.

These are all my opinions.

If you're religious then it's nice to have. In many small communities the church is pretty much the center of people's social lives. Our town doesn't have cinemas, places to shop, etc. We have parks, mountains, school, and church.

I thought you lived in Delphi for some wild reason. Then I went oh. Mountains. My powers of deduction lol.

For two years we have been looking for the schlubbiest degenerate ever. People were listing all kinds of suspects based on social status in town. Didn’t ever see any choir boys come up. Only guys who could possibly be nicknamed Bubba.
Wonder why that is?

BBM. I came into this case a few weeks after the girls were found. When I saw the first BG sketch, I thought "Oh-No. They are looking for a bushy-haired stranger", <modsnip: off topic>

I’m sitting here wondering if there is even ONE THING that everybody can agree on as related to this case. Anything? I can’t think of one thing lol (other than we all want him arrested, of course).

Yes and they actually described his hair as reddish brown, IIRC. In the presser.
Yeah - I honestly couldn’t recall if that was the “old” sketch or the “new” sketch. It’s kind of a big jumble of info to me...

I guess my basic points are: I think the hair is most likely a defining feature (from the sketch) and 2) I don’t think he was wearing a wig

Rader was organized, and even then, things didn’t always according to plan.

He made some huge mistakes in his first murders, ones that he rectified going forward.

I don’t think this guy is of the organized variety, but he definitely has fantasies.

If he isn't organized, then he's awfully lucky in my opinion.

There’s a couple possibilities:

The DNA is not of the quality needed to go that route.

They’re in the process of doing this, but it has yet to yield results.

I don’t for a second, believe that this task force wouldn’t have done this, if they had the ability to do so.

They want to nail this monster as badly as the public wants them to.
Could be contaminated DNA ?....moo
