Yeah, my bad. I intended to include the link in the original post but my browser was going insane on me while posting. :doh:Thanks for the clarification that it was a media report.
I ask myself should I give RL the benefit of the doubt at this time and instantly I know my answer has to be 'yes.' Until he is named a suspect or somehow conspired with BG then I have no choice, but to give him that benefit of a doubt for there is no evidence to prove otherwise as of now.
It wouldn't take much probable cause for a Judge to sign off on a search warrant to search his house and property since it was the location where the girls were found. In fact I already wondered why LE hadn't done that already since most locations where murder victims are found do have search warrants done and its usually shortly after the discovery of the bodies.
As far as why he has been moved to another jail for his safety, I believe it is to do with LE thinking someone inside of the jail may do him harm thinking he is guilty whether he is or not. He is 77 years old and could be an easy target for someone wanting to make a name for themselves.
In small towns like Delphi often the citizens aren't as well versed on search warrant legalities as some of us crime buffs here. Just because a search warrant has been served doesn't mean RL is guilty of anything but unfortunately some will believe they are guilty of the crime. There have been several search warrants done in other areas concerning this case that resulted in nothing. With RL its different. Everyone in Delphi knows the girls were found on his land. So I think LE wanted to get him out of that area in case someone may go off half-cocked by not waiting for the evidence of guilt to come forward first.
When the Issac gang murdered the well respected 6 Alday family members in Donalsonville, Ga. in the 70s there were people in the town lining up in the street that wanted to storm the jail and take the murderers out and kill them right then and there. Of course the local LE/GBI/FBI stood by constantly to make sure that didn't happen. They would have felt that way even if Carl Issac and his gang hadn't been the ones, but were just thrown in jail on suspicion. Emotions were at a fever pitch back then due to how well loved all the Aldays were, and I have no doubt emotions are running high in Delphi too, understandably. So things could get out of hand and I think LE is trying to avoid that by moving him to a safer place.
RL looks nothing like the photos of BG nor does he sound like him either, imo. I just don't see him being the one who murdered the girls, but we will see. They have plenty of time now to see if any evidence was found during the search warrant since he is locked up. If he was physically fit to do these murders then it does make me wonder why he would leave them on his own property when there are other wooded locations there. Once they began to search his property the next day it didn't take them long to find Abi and Libby.
From what I have read he has had several DUIs. Yes, that is very reckless, dangerous, and careless, but it takes a giant leap to go from getting DUIs to being a double murderer of young teen girls. IMO
Perhaps what the police means by something not adding up is they are unable to get any valuable tips as to who BG is and by this time they think they should have gotten him IDd by now. Just speculating of course.
And when cases aren't going anywhere it is quite common for the investigators to go back to square one, and start over, and that would be doing a search warrant on the property and home where their bodies were found.
So I am not sure this search warrant will result in an arrest, for the murders but if it does ...that is really all that matters in the end for everyone wants justice for Abi and Libby.
It's a small town - less than 3000 - or so it's been repeatedly said. His property boasts a direct route to a known local destination - everyone in a small town knows that you can get to "a" by crossing the property of "b"......whether they knew him personally (as he had been a visitor in their homes), or by reputation.....it's highly unlikely they would not have recognized him on sight. I don't see him telling them not to speak and the. The recording starting and/or one of them not begging him by name to let them go.
Again, common sense and logic. Sorry that applying it means RL is no longer a rationale, or viable topic of discussion.

I wouldn't go myself and don't blame you one bit! I am more surprised by the lack of news reporting from the scene...seems odd to me and makes me wonder if LE has put a media blackout... unless I've missed the reporting. Here at my house we will be watching The Iowa State game!
Wait what?
The girls were found on RLs property.
RL was arrested for a probation violation. Come to find out he's got a history of arrests and issued with the law.
LE makes a statement that people lied about alibis.
RL clams up.
A search warrant is issued for the entirety of RLs property. A police officer speaking on the situation says they had new evidence that gave them probable cause to search.
A entire vehicle was towed away from the property.
Who knows what else I've missed in the last 24 hours. But now ya'll don't want to sleuth him because you don't think he acted like a killer in his interviews? Because he doesn't look the same from two grainy photos or sound the same from one heavily edited line of audio?
I won't feel sorry for RL until he's totally cleared and let free. Who I feel sorry for is these two little girls and their families.
If you don't want to sleuth him don't, but other people here do see similarities and do think he's involved and tbh he's not exactly comming off Mr. Innocence.

I will say this:
RL said he "knew the families".
I would imagine they would also know him, however peripherally.
Which logically, would mean they would have been able to look at BG and say "Hey.....".
That said, I sometimes have trouble picking my own child out of a crowd. She and her friends dress in very similiar types of clothing and sport similar hairstyles....and honestly, I will often "see" her 4-5 times before I actually "SEE" her.
BG looks like the Boogie Man, but sort of a generic boogie man. And the photo is very poor resolution. I'd like to think I would be able to id him if he were someone I knew, but I cannot say that with any certainty.
Yea for a while and the murder will be about 4 months gone by then. coldcase. moo
I was just wondering if anyone else saw this? This was the first time I have seen it so I am sharing but apologize if it has been shared before. This shows the distance from RL's house to the part of his property where the girls' bodies were found. Much further than I pictured in my head from the video interviews. Not sure it makes any difference, but I have to digest it and see.

The Carroll County Sheriffs Office provided a mug shot of Ron Logan when they said he was booked into jail last week for a DUI probation violation.
At this time just because were serving a search warrant and hes in jail, I dont want people to make that connection that hes under arrest for double homicide because hes not at this time, said Sgt. Tony Slocum, Indiana State Police.
A judge granted a warrant for investigators to search his home and everything on the 40-acre property. But investigators would not share what piece of evidence gave them probable cause.
I dont believe it was just one piece of evidence I think the totality of evidence led to probable cause where a judge was able to issue a search warrant and thats a normal course of business, said Sgt. Slocum. Its not the first time we served a search warrant in this case.
Investigators said they searched around a dozen homes trying to eliminate and rule people out in connection to the murders.
We served multiple search warrants so far, and search warrants and evidence can either exonerate a person or maybe require law enforcement to take a closer look, Slocum said. But at this time Ron Logan is not under arrest for the double homicides of Liberty German and Abigail Williams.

Whoa - I'm not trying to start any argument! I'm just pointing out that the fact that a judge gave the go ahead for a search warrant means it's specific. LE is just declining to release those specific details to maintain the integrity of the investigation. This isn't the first time they've searched the property - it's pretty clear that a tip has come in to give them more direction. Which means it's not 'vague' at all.
You wrote exactly what I just said to my partner. If RL was 42 years old in this exact same set of circumstances, I feel like a lot more people would be suspicious. For some reason, RL is getting a pass due to his age. I have no idea who the murderer is, of course.
Not necessarily. It's possible that trace evidence was found on the bodies that links to the farm, and it's possible that the girls were assaulted in one of the buildings on the property. That scenario does not require a tip.
I have never seen this location before. Some other maps have the location more to the east. This really is right behind the cemetery. For what it's worth, I do not think they waded across the creek. I think they were told to get in a vehicle right off the bridge and driven to who knows where and then taken down there.
I don't think his age has anything to do with it.. he does not look like the BG imo
I think it's evidence that lead to this search too.
But...who knows. I was hoping some info would be in today's news, but no such luck.

The thing is, no one knows if the bridge guy is even the actual killer. So whether or not RL looks like him doesn't really matter.
