Appears so. Looking for prints??? JMO

Fibers, hair, body fluid, dirt, plants, etc. & tire track matches. It could be any or many things. Just because they took the truck to process doesn't mean it has any involvement or they'll find anything.

I listened to that podcast and agree it is very informative! I also listened to the Polly Klass case (did you suggest that, too?)- also informative.

As for current probation/ driver's license status, I recently reposted something a previous poster stated in a thread or 2 ago. This suggests his license was still suspended through 9/2017, probation too, maybe? Note: Not my original post, just sharing.
"I hoping by linking this I can clear up the question of why RL's License would still be suspended. If you go back to the "My case link"

http://public.courts.in.gov/mycase/#/vw/Search

and enter case #08D01-1312-FD-000107 you will see he was first arrested on 11/28/2013 and at his trial on 9/15/2014. His license is suspended for 1 year but in between while waiting to be sentenced. He was pulled over again on 2/21/2014 (ref case 08D01-1402-FD-000016). At the sentencing for that case on 10/8/2014 he is given another 2 years license suspension to run consecutively with the previous suspension. Since he already served 30 days of that suspension the current suspension would not end until 9/15/2017...
IMO ...Does this make sense
"

I'm way late in my response (sick kiddo, sorry!). I listened to the Polly Class one as well it was fascinating - although I wasn't the one to suggest the Polly Class one so thank you to the poster that did! This info about his suspension is super helpful for me, thank you!

I believe this is the Tippecanoe River Bridge located in Monticello, IN https://www.google.com/maps/place/40%C2%B045'03.3%22N+86%C2%B045'28.2%22W/@40.750929,-86.7583882,155m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d40.750928!4d-86.757841

The closest Google Streetview I can get https://www.google.com/maps/place/40%C2%B045'03.3%22N+86%C2%B045'28.2%22W/@40.7465842,-86.7575009,3a,15y,355.52h,89.36t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sVLcxGU0rCLaAfY1Bc9o5dw!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo3.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DVLcxGU0rCLaAfY1Bc9o5dw%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D2.9294763%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d40.750928!4d-86.757841

The Streetview is looking toward the area with the utility lines in the first link I gave.

I only say this because the water is too wide to be Deer Creek or Wildcat Creek north of Owasco (Wildcat Creek used to have a rail bridge like Deer Creek's Monon High Bridge but it was demolished in 2013). The utility lines in the photo, I just can't find at any deck girder bridge that has four lines like those that seem to span wide water. The only thing that causes me to not be 100% sure its the Tippecanoe Bridge is that in the photo I cannot see a single pier.

Sorry if this has already been suggested, these threads move so very fast I cannot keep up.

As always, MOO

You absolute beauty!! You nailed it. Now we can put this fishing photo speculation to bed.

I think that is like a mark to she the vehicles is supposed to be sealed (think chain of custody) to show that no one should touch or open the door.

Appears so. Looking for prints??? JMO

they used the tape to seal the truck so no one opens it until it gets to the location to be searched.

Yes. See my previous post
Latent fingerprints tagged is what I suspect that is.

Re the fishing pic again:

The only thing I can't identify with Monon Bridge is the marked part. No idea what it is: some building?

I could see "Violated"... Rape is pretty specific to a sexual assault though.

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/rape

" The crime of using force or the threat of force to compel a person to submit to sexual intercourse."

To me, the word 'rape; seems to be used to describe all kinds of things nowadays. I have heard people in the restaurant industry say that 'they got raped tonight', meaning they were so unexpectedly busy and ran out of all of their food they had prepped, just as one example. Under these particular circumstances, it was likely a poor choice of wording, but he may not have been practicing what he would say so that it sounded better or whatever. The poor man just should have kept his mouth shut. The fact that he didn't, I don't think makes him guilty, imho, it just makes him naive. jmo

I am stating my take on the case. I tend to be pretty quiet most times... but I feel like I have to have my say on things, I feel pretty strongly about this one, and I have for a long while. Sorry this is so long!

At the start of the investigation, LE throws as wide of a net as possible to include as many suspects as possible, so that they can be more assured that the real suspect is included. They accomplished this by a few notable methods: repeatedly asking for tips, setting up a reward, placing electronic billboards far and wide... etc. of course, they also have suspects based in facts of the case - and RL for example would certainly be included due to the fact the bodies were found on his property.

Early in the investigation, they were calling for people who had seen a hitchhiker, or someone carrying a knapsack IIRC. If RL did have a suspended license they may have been trying to find a witness that saw him (because they assumed he wasn't driving) or, he told them he hitchhiked to Lafayette, if that was his "alibi". So, it seems possible that LE was intensely interested in RL from the early days, although that is just a possibility.

Strikingly, we have numerous, numerous, numerous, public appearances by one person, RL. How odd, but! not uncommon that the criminal actually takes to the media and tries to control the story. We at WS have seen this in the past, have we not?

So, fast forward, and we now have a big new investigation into RL's property, including impounding his vehicle for forensics, a long and involved search warrant for items on his property, and in his home. This comes after an initial search of his property that was done weeks ago. Add to this, LE hauled him into custody on a probation violation.

I came to read about this case for the first time after the video stills and the voice capture had been released. But the very first thing I viewed about this case was a news report with an interview of RL within it. The next thing I did was look at earlier news reports that did contain the pictures and the link to the voice capture. As soon as I heard the voice capture, while looking at the stills, I got chills. I was convinced that RL fit the picture and sounded just like the voice... and here we are. I am usually the LAST person, or close to it on the forum to jump on a suspect. I tend to hold out until thee is solid irrefutable evidence. but I got chills, actual chills when I saw them. So I am going with my gut in this one, and really, LE's actions have done nothing whatsoever to dissuade me!

IMHO YMMV

My sentiments from the beginning, too. Exactly.

Jmo. I have ghost hunted for over 20 years and am familiar with evp as well. This guy is a nut case imo . I agree with you. Rep!y with quote isn't working obviously. Sorry!

  • #535
Without the face only it seems to be the same person .... odd. IMO

Agree! The whole head/face(s) look nothing alike. BG even looks (and sounds!), much younger than RL imo.

Nice!

Do you know what the State Road 18 bridge looks like from shore level? Does it resemble the Monon High Bridge?

Isn't it this RR bridge in Monticello, this is the back side, power lines are on the other side?

As someone who lives about 20 miles from Delphi, I thought the body of water in the fishing pic was way too large for Deer Creek. We have 2 rivers in the area, the Wabash and the Tippecanoe. I think the fishing pic was taken about 5 miles or so outside of Delphi where State Road 18 bridges over the Tippecanoe River. Power lines in the enclosed map pic might confirm this. It's a beautiful area of Indiana.

IMO
Thanks for sharing this overhead picture.
This looks to me to be the spot she was likely fishing in the fishing photo. The photo of the Tippecanoe River matches up real nicely with the other photo.

When looking at this overhead she would have been standing on the left side of the river and up above the power lines a little bit.

There is even car tire tracks that lead to the area she was likely standing. The tire tracks come out the top of the light brown patch and head right under the power lines and towards the water bank to right about where she was fishing.

JMO of course. I do think you nailed it where she was which proves to me that the other photo of her fishing was here on the Tippecanoe River and not at the murder site.

Oh and the trees on the far bank from where she was fishing went right down to the waters edge and that matches too to your picture.

Is that evidence tape/marker on the door of his truck?
It looks like it to me.

This tape ensures that investigators know whether the door was opened between confiscation and the forensics garage, so that there is some proof that nothing was planted in the vehicle after LE looked into it and before CSI opened it.

As revealed in public Superior Court records, one of RL's arrests was made while in the vehicle with another individual. The other individual was in his 30's, and had a similar arrest record with the addition of several arrests for synthetic marijuana or similar appearing substance". My knowledge of "Spice" is that it is often cut with dangerous, unknown substances and is highly dangerous.
