New user here, so this is my first post. I registered specifically to reply to this. Not sure how to word this without giving out too much info on an individual, but I was lurking this thread over the last couple of hours and have noticed something. There was an earlier post regarding a local "journalist" taking pictures of the bridge area, allegedly during the initial search or shortly after, and posting these pictures to Facebook. There is a bit of controversy regarding the times his pics were posted to his page. Hopefully one of you know what I am talking about without me posting the guy's name. But the individual has a beard, which is what I am seeing in this photo. He has red hair and a pretty distinctive nose, which I again somewhat see in this photo. Hopefully one of you know what I am referencing, and if so, please take a look at his Facebook pictures and see if you also see the distinct similarities I am seeing.

Also, great work all of you are doing. I just found this site this morning and I am extremely impressed with everything. I am originally from a small-ish town, also in Indiana, so I know the mentality of the area and how devastating this has to be. I am also a former investigator for the Indiana Department of Corrections and was fortunate enough to get a lot of training from a lot of good agencies and this case has really dragged me down the rabbit hole as a human being, a father of two girls, and someone with an investigative background. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to interacting with all of you!

Does the journo resemble even slightly the BG? The guy from Pharo-something? TIA

Welcome.

I copied the address and pasted it into my subject box, maybe try that.

What about CC Sheriff's website? Maybe there is a contact form. Alternately, @ISPPeru is Sgt. Slocum's Twitter so ask him.

Not sure that matters since... in that particular photo both of the heads are somewhat down and the head of RL is still quite smaller. So logic tells me if RL were to be resized appropriately, he would be larger. Because in interviews and photos, his head looks larger than usual to me. Jmo
but we do know RL's actual height. It s 6'1 i believe. If BG is estimated at 5'10 and another inch or two could be added because he is looking down, and we take in even a two or three percent error rate of BG's pic is quite possible that they could be the same height.

First crime, not a murder. The "found alive" is kind of a giveaway

Second, shallow grave is buried, haphazardly perhaps but buried.

Picton fed his victims to his pigs, no quote of them just laying in his backyard.

Citing links tends to work better, when you read them first.

Deciding something didn't happen because you wouldn't do it the same way or because you were not there to witness it also makes little sense to me, IMO.

Google really is amazing at finding answers.

I'll guess in this case that the killer was in a hurry as to why the bodies were out and not buried or hidden better, IMO, because it happened quickly and was unplanned, also IMO.

But if it was RL then he had more time than anybody as it was his property.

:moo:

Excellent point, asyousay.

Welcome.
That's exactly who I was referring to. IMO with the lighting, the head down, and the distinctive nose....I just see some similarities.

That is the problem, isn't it, we don't know how the girls were found, exactly. So unfortunately no one has a link to prove their point. Sigh.

Still, to me, even if they were buried or covered, it couldn't have been by too much because they were found fairly quickly. I think the point is that, if they were buried or covered, they weren't buried deep enough so as to never be found.

My question would be then, did the perp want them to be found?

I think yes he wanted them to be found. Definitely part of the profile of the perp is where he left the bodies. That says alot about this crime. JMO
You could take it the other way and say, he didn't have a vehicle or he didn't have the ability to get them up the steep hills.
But I think he was not working alone and did have a vehicle. That's just me. My perps would have taken them in a vehicle from the road to a place where they would have more time with them without being right out in the open for anyone going across the bridge that afternoon, so for these whack jobs to bring them back is sending an evil message.

I'm not decided, that's kind of my point. That said, logically a hidden body would take far longer to find than one not hidden.

It's possible the bodies were posed, sadly it's impossible to know if he wanted them found, tho fairly obvious they would be.

Hi and Welcome to WS.

The date of the photos by the photojournalist who said he saw girls' clothing in the creek was discussed many threads ago. I didn't follow it closely but IIRC it was found he started the album on the 13th when the girls were missing and added photos on the 14th. Nothing nefarious was the general consensus.

I'm not sure it is really accurate to say that bodies were found in RL backyard? To the best of my recollection they were found in the back of his 40acre property in the woods near a creek. And I'll add MOO

I think BG was gone before it was known the girls were missing, and that he left them where he killed them, where they were found. I do not hear "down the hill" as a command, more telling the girls where something of interest can be found, in order to get them off the bridge and out of sight, to commit the crimes.

I do not think it took very long, maybe not as long as half an hour. Once he had control of them, whether tied up or with weapon for example, it would not take very long to do what he intended to do (SA in my opinion).

Whether he was out there in order to kill, who knows...

I also think LE is frustrated and being honest when they say they are downhearted right now. RL is not their man, imo, not sure if they ever seriously thought he was.

All jmo, obviously...

His FB page (the journalist) shows he posted other local stories. Nothing suspicious. Can't recall his name at the moment, but I had checked it out at the time.
